  1. I don't know why these things never seem to happen to me - it's like i'm living in a different area or something - or it might be the scary sounding dog who roars up to the front door whenever any one touches the front gate, or the scary looking peeps coming in and out of my house at all hours of the night and day. Don't tell anyone that they are harmless tho.
  2. My co-op savings account is low but the 6% I used to get with citibank seems to have vanished! I save in my kids Nationwide account tho, that's pretty good. About 5-6 % I think, well if they haven't cut it recently, that is.
  3. My bf worked for these people for a couple of weeks - no basic pay, just commission. I told him they were dodgy and he shouldn't bother - but anyway, he made four sales in that time and is due a massive ?30 for each sale and has been told he has to wait three months to be paid, after having to complain to the big boss as his team leader said he wasn't due any money at all. The company who recruit all the sales people and who are responsible for their training and pay are called 'Eclectic Marketing' They should be reported to somebody - not sure who - but they are awful.
  4. I went in there for the first time a few weeks back and the food was really nice but I was the only person in there with my friend. It's been empty every time I've been past too. I was supprised it was so empty because the service and food was really good. The owners obviously love food and I think it is sad that the more formulaic eateries seem to have taken their business. I hope you have a well earned rest and sold it for enough to keep you comfortable and thanks for a lovely meal.
  5. Thanks Mockers, but here is a more recent pic of the lovely Hannibal with his little friend Yallas. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v127/31/46/609616010/n609616010_591511_8222.jpg
  6. *Bob* I'm interested in your service but I need to know if you can read tea bags.
  7. I hate the fact they still haven't managed to sort out doorstep, tetra-pak recycling
  8. Getting legs of iron Huggie, and I sleep like the dead! I've been cycling for 20 yrs in London but the combination of old age and sitting on my arse too much recently mean my fitness level is terrible, so it may be a couple of weeks before I manage Lordship Lane without a wobble, so in the meantime can all of you Clarkson fans give me a wide berth please.
  9. I started cycling to East Ham and back every day last week and the hardest bit of my 25 mile a day cycle ride, is not the crappy badly signed cycle lanes or getting up the hills at the end of the day, but the dangerous, reckless car drivers that seem to think that they own the road and anyone who gets in their way is collateral damage. I hate car drivers, they need to get out of their metal and plasic cocoons and reconnect with the people around them whose lives they endanger every day and whose environment they pollute like they have more rights than anyone else. On my way up Lordship Lane I got a bit wobbly as I was pushing to the top and some wanker sped past me and only missed me by about an inch. He parked his car a bit further up and when I told he he had nearly hit me, he said it was my fault for being a bit wobbly. He had loads of space, but couldn't be arsed giving me a wide birth to ensure he didn't hit me. He was in his cocoon and didn't give a shit about anyone else. Get everyone out of their self-contained, little death traps and on a bike, and yes, I too believe the world would be a better place. Edited for rubbish spelling
  10. I use my co-operative bank and Nationwide to save and they seem fine so far. I wouldn't trust the greedy big mainstream banks.
  11. A friend of mine uses "chillaxing" a lot.
  12. What I found amusing was the BNP leader saying he is going to use the Human Rights Act to enforce his right to privacy - but he would abolish it and pull out of Europe if he got into power. He actually got a bit confused about the European Convention on Human Rights though, thinking it was somthing to do with the European Community - but as we all learn in our first year at law school - they are totally seperate and unlike decisions passed down by the ECJ, the decisions of the ECtHR are pursuasive but not binding here in the UK. Just kind of thought a leader of a political party really aught to know that! My twopence on the whole BNP freedon of speech thing is that yes they should be allowed to practice free speech unless incitment to some kind of crime is part of that speech, but so should everyone else. If they can get up and say obnoxious things, we should all be allowed to get up and say obnoxious things - as long as there is no incitement to commit crime. The banned muslim organisations should be unbanned and we could all tell them that their ideas are wank too.
  13. hugs guys - now lets get back to the titillation! What about mad-man Slater? http://www.robertkazinsky.org/gallery/forthegirls/s8.jpg
  14. Ruffers - I have more than one daughter - this one was over 16!
  15. I'm challenging a fixed penalty given to my daughter yesterday by a pcs bloody o for cycling the distance from the cashpoint to the road very slowly and carefully. They ended up with a van full of pcso's and a car with two pcso's and a police sergeant threatening to arrest her because she argued with them and called her mum to find out what her legal position was. One of the pcso's even suggested she just ignore the penalty notice. Well spent tax payers money, don't you think?
  16. The men should be banned from this thread - they are just a bunch of spoilsports, so they should bogg off
  17. She is 9 and loves cycling - something I hope she will keep up. My son still cycles everywhere and he's 22 even though he passed his diving test at the age of 18. All the miserable tw@ts trying to push nervous cyclists onto the roads should get out of their cars and stop taking up our road space.
  18. bollox - I cycle on the road but my daughter cycles mostly on the pavement quite long distances cos I don't want to have to explain to her dad that she is in bits after being hit by a car. I don't own a car so we use our bikes as our main means of geting from A to B. She does the easy bits of road so she can learn how to cycle on the roads, but as soon as it gets too busy for her to cope I send her back on the pavement and I don't give a sh!t what anyone says, I'm not going to stop her cycling or cycling on the pavement when it's too dangerous to go on the road. Fine me, bang me up, whatever, I'm not going to stop her until she is fully confident and has enough experience. edited to explain that the 'bollox' was not in response to the post immediatly before mine!
  19. And how could we forget the sexy Mr. Clooney? http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2006/specials/sma06/sma_gallery/george_clooney635.jpg http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZZ-CqtHjAnk/R13EiAzyfsI/AAAAAAAAJEY/RgYWBiFv3tg/s320/GEORGE_CLOONEY_56.jpg
