  2. name dropper ::o lucky thing From his early days as Forum Flame, Snorky has slowly but surely become a total firm fave of mine, I can forgive the odd nualcol outburst. Here he is as I imagine him....bless
  3. Here's a marvellous multiplayer online strategy that has definitely taken a leaf out of Advance Wars' book. http://weewar.com I'm, for reasons too many to go into here, am called another_gimp. If anybody fancies a game at some point? Anyone, anyone, Bueller?
  4. Looking forward to it monkeybrogan, see you then. Oh and welcome to the area and the forum, hope you enjoy.
  5. It's still a bit too shacky to be truly resorty, but yes, there is a whiff of it, but it's still a nice place. I stayed there a couple of nights and then headed up to baga (really not very far) which, as I said, was more chilled. KateW, ooh ooh, I think that must have been the same Italian place, fantastic wasn't it. Beautiful at night with those fairy lights and the palms and the sound of the ocean behind you. And damn good mojitos too I recall.
  6. I did have a look on t'interweb for you, though I'm sure you had a look too, and there's pretty much zip. I even had to read between the lines to work out it's (probably) some sort of phoenix Nights type affair. Give em a ring is your best bet, I did try but no answer. 020 7732 0482
  7. the first three letters are Dulwichmums favourite phrase. the next three are an expression of bemusement, and as pointed out the last three are horrifically geeky, but then I am a bit. and fanks Honaloochie[A/B]
  8. omgwtfpwn Great name, all his base are belong to me.
  9. I did South African history for two terms in the second year of my history degree and I can pretty much say I know cock all about it too.
  10. I worked out how to mess about with my databases using .Net (smo) and a command line scripting tool (powershell). Which I'm kind of proud of...sadly. I also got my coat.
  11. There are about ten trillion Mandela Bars in student unions nationwide. At Keele we renamed ours in honour of Frankie Howerd after he died.
  12. I nkow where you're coming from Atila, and there's no way you should be ashamed for being white. And if you want to say your proud, that's great. I sure ain't going to complain. I'm interested to know if anyone here would be offended. My point, personally speaking, was there's nothing specifically about being white that I'm proud of, but that's just me really. Thinking about it, if I'm not going to take personal responsibility and feel shame for Spain's devastation of the New World, the Inquisition, the bloodthirsty campaigns in The Low Countries, General Franco etc as they weren't really my fault, then can I take personal pride in Goya, Velazquez, Rodrigo, Flamenco, the Alhambra, the orange laden squares of Seville, The perennial underachievers that are the national football team? I can take pride in my mum's Tortilla Espa?ola though, I'm pretty comfortable with that.
  13. I guess they don't think of themselves as a chain. They had success with a restaurant, thought the forumla worked so opened another, were proved right expanded again, err twice. Blackheath, Fulham, County Hall and .... East Dulwich. That speaks volumes doesn't it. Of course I live in Camberwell innit.
  14. and put candles everywhere and add scented oils to the water...that'd be lovely ;-)
  15. I guess if you've lived in a country that effectively had apartheid for many years and you were (at least in some areas) made to feel ashamed of being black, then yeah, assert your pride in being what you are (plus it make s for a catchy song). It's less relevant in today's society* than it was, but still has some relevance as long as discrimination continues to exist. White and proud? I dunno, are white people being forced to be ashamed of their colour or suffer discrimination for it? I guess that's what this debate is all about. I'd be inclined to say no. There is definitely a vilification of the white working classes in some areas of the media (or little Britain) so maybe "I'm Working Class and Proud" has more validity. *I'm obvously referring to the US and the struggle for civil rights, but it definitely has resonance here too.
  16. LOL, noooooooooooo don't do it Cassius!!! You know not what forces you unleash ;-) *runs for the hills*
  17. Where's the pride in being white? It's just what I am. It's hardly a great achievement by me is it? Unless I'm being smug about my wonderful sun-avoidance techniques or something. Pride in my heritage? As I count British (via the carribean) Spanish and German among my near forebears then there is much to be proud of and quite a bit to be ashamed of in all of them.
  18. It should be made a national treasure. Totally off topic but this one had me in absolute stitches yesterday http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/environment/i'll-be-just-fine%2c-says-planet-20080306774/ "The Earth spoke out after a series of books, television programmes and environmental campaigns urged people to do everything in their power to 'Save the Planet'. Earth, 4,000,000,000, said last night: "I'll be absolutely fine, seriously. I might get a bit warmer and a bit wetter, but to be honest, that actually sounds quite nice. "Try living through an ice age. Pardon my French, but it's absolutely fucking freezing."
  19. Awwwww, how lovely. Congrats to your fecund sibling.
