Snorky know you're a bit of a wind up merchant, but I really really hope you're joking. Does anybody remember the story a while back where Mr and Mrs Wall in Preston or somesuch were refused permission by the registry office to call their twins Brick and Stone?
  2. favourite curry house in ED Maybe some flags as well such as: johnny come lately/ed original working class/middle class but seriously keep it simple I reckon flickr give a bit of space to elaborate a bit about yourself should you so wish, an avatar and some favourite movies/books/music stuff Mine is stuffed full of the usual egomaniacal solipsistic stuff which we're probably best avoiding, but scroll down for the normal stuff. Yeah, shops, pubs, curry houses etc http://www.flickr.com/people/piers_canadas/
  3. I feel a bit weird posting here, as if i'm going to be smothered from behind with an estrogen soaked cloth and my unconscious body dumped outside of the thread, but.. Click on Mark's name, he's got a post earlier on this thread. Then you'll find blue link that says 'Send A Private Message' this will take you through to the private message (PM) section, just like email really but soley for this forum.
  4. *almost imperceptible noise of someone crying in the real world almost breaks through into virtual realm """""sob sob sob 4 and a half hours from a beer""""""
  5. Whoooaah there, good raise. Electrelane was, well, it was very electrelane. Reedy, clever vocals over meandering lo-fi somewhere between prog, folk, rock and welsh choirs. Minus the welsh choirs sadly. We're more on Power Out territory than Axes. Good stuff
  6. *leaps out of skin almost literally, falls back down to earth lokoing crumpled, sleepy and not a bit nonplussed* *dusts self down* -phut phut- *thinks aye, tis true* *cracks open a cold cold sol, pops a lime in the top like some tragic eighties throwback in red braces* -aaahhhhhhhhhhh-
  7. As the lounge is feeling a bit lonely and everyones being serious, a bit of silliness from my band du jour (well, deux jours) Dinosaur Jr - Feel The Pain
  8. I've just remembered that I went to G&B with my brother a few weeks back, he asked for water and the waitress said tap water, my brother nodded and that's what we got. So either the policy has changed, the waitress didn't know or the taps were broken. My guess anyway.
  9. Feeling Ropey, something with a bit more Rawk Cold War Kids - Hang me up to dry
  10. Of course the George takes does take some advantage out of its historic uniqueness and the fact it's on every tour of the city, to charge about ?8 a pint, so a little goodwill for the price is nice ;)
  11. Despite my hugely pacifist tendencies I have accidenatly discovered that one of the very few things I'm actually good at is shooting things. Double skeet at 15 ft, no probs. Rabbit at 100yards, boom. Not proud though, faintly disturbed, cosmic jokes and all that!!
  12. Oooh given up, please. If the latter I do hope they refurb the chef and the service. Well apart from the cute one whom i should mention on another thread.
  13. Doh, found out by Polly, yes, Tony/CrystalClear/Mockney/Fear&Boozing have never been seen in the same room together!!!
  14. Anna, I guarantee you you weren't as heartbroken as I was almost exactly a year ago (i'm sure you were thrilled that day), after wiping the dust from my eyes, I got into a canoe to get to our destination on a trip down the Wye, fell in the river, capsized the boat then the heavens opened on me. I can honestly say it was a lower sporting moment than any other I can remember, even Italia '90. Jah Lush, go ahead, I won't complain, though I'm hoping Bolton will do us a favour by losing, and Chelsea do us a favour by losing to Man U, so they field a rubbish team in preparation for their Cup Game.
  15. They're ALL boring Keef, well, unless West Ham are there obviously. Yes I recall '96 being a low point. Was that when liverpool had those awful suits and that dreadful ecru strip?
  16. No WAY. That's what he meant by I work in government!!! * polishes knuckle dusters *
  17. Well Jesus and Mary Chain have reformed recently and those MBV rumours persist

  19. Never turn your back on lucky underpants ... so to speak
  20. Dinosaur Jr - Beyond. They're back and they're still class, I've missed you lads. Electralane - No Shouts No Calls. Haven't had a listen yet as only been back from fopp for 3/4 album's length (the above one obviously) but will edit once i've listened to it. very brief review http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,7146,16829,page=8#msg-16829
  21. Just poking fun at myself mumra don't worry though I am prone to geeky moments (I even find this funny but please don't tell anyone). I went to the exhibition and found it utterly mesmerising. Especially the open pages of John Evelyn's actual diary. My Granddad Charles Evelyn Smith was his direct descendant, so felt a real visceral connection there that really surprised me; not bad for a mongrel spaniard!.
  22. Her name's Galia Durant. Apparently they provide the theme to Grey's Anatomy and are a bit of an OC favourite. I say apparently as I've never watched either I'm afraid. But they are a UK duo so big pat on the back to them I say. More info:http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:dbfexqtaldse
  23. Blimey, good effort Huguenot. Not got enough time on your hands? ;)
  24. I don't know if any of you made it to London, a Life in Maps up at the British Library, but it was very very cool (in the sort of way that old maps can be cool, rather than The Fonz was cool, obviously). But if you did miss out and you have Google Earth, then this is pretty good too. Go to the explorer panel on the left, open 'featured content' folder, the the 'Rumsey Historical Maps' folder. There you can click on London and you get a high res overlay of London circa 1843 on your earth. If anything it shows just how much it grew in a short space of time. fascinating stuff for a saddo like me. Google earth is totally free from google by the way, if you haven't got it do so, and revisit every cool holiday you've ever been to. Download here http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html
  25. It is, I'm keeping an eye out for them in sunny Camden http://www.londonist.com/archives/2007/05/i_see_naked_peo.php
