  1. Cheeky. I'll have you know I haven't shaved in a week and there are socks all over the bedroom floor. Of course I'll be shaved and tidy by the time Mairead gets back, but as she's in Ireland this weekend I reckon I can make a sock pile a foot high first.
  2. *lounged* Much as I'm enjoying this little slice of ED life (and I am) it's a bit of a nice chat really isn't it ;)
  3. hear hear (or here here, I'll have to find out one day) Sean The world keeps turning. The legendary (honest) Black Squirrel* in Letchworth has had a makeover and been named something innocuous. Apparently I can't buy drugs in their or get shivved anymore, most disappointing. But the world continues despite these world shattering events. It is sad to see places change when you have memories associated, but hey, there you go. *Letchworth is the only place in Britain with black squirrels, though rumour has it some have escaped to Stevenage recently, the fools!!
  4. I heard J&MC were reforming? Amon Tobin set to traffic, weirdly.
  5. Well I must say it's terrific. Here is the usual myspace thingy where you can have pook at 4 tracks. Lovely stuff
  6. Well if we're going to get picky, how come the Bishop is the Bishop and not the chap who enjoyed the hospitality at the Irish embassy too much and then got a bit of a headache and went home, doesn't remember much about it, but was feeling a bit off you know, nothing to do with too much Jamesons honest guv, it's a fair cop. On second thoughts The Bishop is a bit snappier.
  7. Actually in all fairness capt' I'm forever badgering people to listen to it and I'm going to have to admit to myself one day that about 2 in every three give me a 'yes piers, whatever' look. Aah well, not to everyone's taste I guess. Enjoying this andrew bird so far, nithing stand out as yet. Metacritic clearly like it too. http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/birdandrew/armchairapocrypha?q=andrew%20bird
  8. *eyes water* I don't think I'll ever be able to eat pizza again. I hope the Gowlett is safe.
  9. :D I take it you never gelled with it then? Think sufjan stevens and wilco meet in a cafe and talk about ocado delivery vans.
  10. LOL, sorry capt' wasn't meant personally or anything. My inabililty to say no to virgin/fopp has resulted in Andrew Bird's new album this lunchtime. I'll report back in a couple of hours.
  11. well you're talking my patch flong. I've championed Buddha Jazz here even though it's the wrong SE, but I agree the service is just wonderful and personal in there. Although these days I pretty much have to book as it's usually choca. If we can mention no LL businesses then the George Canning gets a vote to. Steve *I'm mentally doing a bad geordie accent* is a top bloke, he even witnessed our deeds, and the current crop of barmaids are just lovely.
  12. I read all the hyperbolic reviews of LCD and bought the album, and really had to wonder why the hype. It was just a self-indulgent, substandard Daft Punk as far as I could work out. If anyone wants a free copy I'm happy to give it away at the next meet as it's just gathering dust. I'm listening to Bill Callahan's (smog) new one at the mo. Strangely upbeat for him, but lovely stuff nonetheless. I noticed last night that Dead Man's Shoes kicks off with a smog track that fitted absolutely perfectly.
  13. Just had a look and tried to force it via the URL, but no luck. I think flickr have to set up the clusters sadly. I see why you didn't post the east dulwich and tree search ;-P
  14. * Lays out twister set on floor and puts down strategically placed sambuccas and tequilas and sundries * * spins wheel, left hand red - phew, a pork scratching *
  15. Can't be too careful bawdy. I'm forever rubbing down my microbahn bubble with alcohol gels and insecticide.
  16. As an antidote to all the fun, and because I stayed up far too late watching Dead Man's Shoes on Film 4 (Y O Y are their good films so late?) I'm grumpy and tired so offer up a sad and beautiful song. Sufjan Stevens - Casmir Pulaski Day
  17. Call it "The Pawn", go on, you know you want to!!!
  18. Yep, Gowlett's got TT Landlord, Hoopers has a whole host. Of course Market Porter in London bridge and the wonderful Royal Oak in Borough if you're prepared to travel a bit for your ale (and it has a terrific byo curry house opposite that you can go to the pub, buy some pints and cross the road with them, marvellous) http://fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1228.html http://www.london-se1.co.uk/restaurants/info/226/simply-indian
  19. A quick swizz and apart from Tom's comment which isn't very nice, the tone of this thread isn't too bad really. Someone even says your dog brings a touch of class to the green, which is nice. I think sometimes people forget that this isn't some sort of club sitting by the swings chatting over a fag. What is posted stays there for good and completely in the public eye, so yes Scott, perhaps we all should remember that a little more often and civility costs nothing. I worry sometimes that Mr Nesbitt will read this forum, he's been called far worse things Scott, believe you me and we really don't know him from Adam.
  20. Also forgot to do honourable mentions to the staff at: Mrs Robinson Kebab & Wine Sean cookwank&reg isn't one of mine, it came from an earlier thread and always makes me chuckle. Personally I can spend whole days in funky kitchenware shops
  21. 2. Buy a three-wheeled Buggy
  22. Kensington in Toronto is a really cool place and has a similar community vibe about it, though it's a bit funkier than East Dulwich and less prone to cookwank&reg shops
  23. The chaps in Dulwich Carpets are a great bunch, and mairead's little southern irish lilt always melts their hearts. The lady in the jewellers was very attentive to mairead. Will second Green&Blue and William Rose The current crop of EDT staff are a good bunch, after Justine and co left it took a couple of years to sort out a good bunch, but I think they're finally there (even the bouncer always has a smile and a welcome for us). Goes without mention that the CPT staff are ace .... doh!
  24. or do it by hand which involves typing something on the lines of: put your link text here that will look blue
