  1. Did anyone actually come up with some decent Eggs Benedict?
  2. It's a tad over 6 pints. Not a huuuge skinful for a night out, but in an unrelenting hour and 40 minutes......... Yes captain, it does.
  3. Oh dear god, why did you make me look on the internet Tillie? 100 shots of beer in a 100 minutes (every minute on the minute) Is much harder than it sounds. Of the 12 or so who started only 2 of us finished and I have no recollection of the last 10 or so, memory filtered back in about 5 or ten minutes after my 100th, 15 minutes later I staggered home with little or no coordination. Aren't policemen nice. Mind you we'd had a couple of bottles of wine with sunday lunch prior to that as I had no idea I was going to be plunged into that ridiculousness in the afternoon. Monday at work was deeply unpleasant. Not for the faint hearted......
  4. Weren't his favourite bands The Beatles and The Stones? And he put the V in Vietnam.
  5. Uh huh. I don't recommend eggs benedict beforehand if you get my drift.
  6. My brother found me fast asleep on the steps about 5 hours later. It was about 7 years ago now and there is no way I could manage it again. I believe there might be a CPT attempt coming soon though.
  7. Is the guy in the bottom right Guy Goma, the chap who accidentally got interviewed by the BBC? He does get about!!
  8. Yaay. Nothing wrong with a softspot for balham. I lived there on and off for a bit in a flatshare with a certain french protestant. Our love of ED needn't be to the exclusion of all London after all. I do like the Bedford alot, and we were to varying extents involved with the refurb in terms of advice to the new owners, and for my part, keeping their turnover healthy by drinking too much. ho hum...and the owner STILL owes me my Bedford Club 100 t-shirt. I had to be helped across the road to my house by a passing policeman who picked me up off the floor, but I _did_ manage the club 100 challenge!!
  9. I may pop in for a pint with my low tech newspaper crossword and biro.
  10. Glorified poached egg on toast with mayo basically.
  11. Ooooh, a new local! That's even closer to home than the George! The missus and I had been intending to pop (or is it pook) down there for a shant (thanks again ratty) for ages, so I'll definitely do it now.
  12. Them's fighting words keef...or are you mockney ? I like the idea that forum meet photos are really a stalker's eye view.
  13. I like my thinking there capt_birdseye
  14. What? It beat the Market Porter ?!?! This simply cannot be, I like the gowlett, but *coughs* *splutters* for ale? Surely you need more than a bit of Landlord on the pumps (lovely drop though it be)
  15. Boozebucks then :( I'm pretty certain the bouncers are a licensing stipulation for every post 11 opening pub on LL. Even the Black Cherry has one. Yep, There's no way I'd go to the bishop on fri/sat nights anymore. I've not seen out and out violence in there, but I have seen some attitude from time to time, and it's been unpleasant in the past. Comes with the territoy, people coming in from out of town to go there now.
  16. Really? Looked pretty red to me. And that's what Wexford types call it. Maybe it's a county thing (I'm a Spaniard before you ask). I know exactly what you mean Sean, but given the choice of where to watch the pink and yellows lose, castle or Ganley's....well, I liked having the choice. I reckon the bishop people can probably have a good bash (fnaar fnaar) at a pub in Herne Hill. I can't see that it'll be the same crowd going just because the owners are the same. The Castle in Camberwell could be a bit poncey, but it was a different crowd to the Bishop crowd.
  17. I just want to say a big thank You on for the generous contributions made by everyone toward the Forum presence at the GG festival. Just shy of 70 quid so far, which is fantastic. Thanks Again :D
  18. I'll actually rather miss Ganley's. It was a good place to go and watch the hurling, was very friendly and reasonably priced. food was pretty good quality and cheap too. Where will I get red lemonade now?! Mind you, people standing for national anthems always freaks me out no matter where I am. I guess it's back to the dingy Castle for irish sport again. Or the really really really scary St Germain over Forest Hill way.
  19. How mad is that? My mate gets driven by Geoffrey from Rainbow in his cab in Kingston quite regularly. Their mutual knowledge has remained unspoken for about 8 years now!!
  20. ** Lounged - I blame that mockney piers personally, tsk tsk **
  21. The old 'top posting' debate! The arguments for and against are equally persuasive. It really boils down to what people are accustomed to, and stylistics. If it helps you'll notice those 'new' links on threads. If you click them it'll take you straight to the first unread-by-you post in the thread and you can carry on reading down from there. Very useful I find.
  22. I was just saying the other day that it was about time we went to the Globe.
  23. I saw Milly out of This Life cycling around Dulwich Park yesterday. No sign of Egg though.
  24. nothing to explain. I rarely make any sense at the best of times.
  25. Pook, pop, yo uknow. As for lairy leery larey? I'd just never really thought about how it was spelt before.
