Youre welcome!! It was empty for quite sometime before reopening as an eaterie which ive completely forgotten the name of. It was a busy place way back in the 80's when my father used it on weekends. Predominantly an Irish and West Indian pub back then as were many others around Brixton at the time.

Thanks for clearing that up. Facts become opinions when one can't be bothered to find the truth or don't like the truth. You may want to not jump on a post that is clearly tounge in cheek. It actually made me smile because they have a point re the the roadworks. So far they have been knowhere near the pain that the recent closure on Peckam Rye/ East Dulwich Road caused. It did keep me fit though cause it was pointless getting a bus from the Gardens to Rye Lane. So I walked it daily. I got caught once and it took 15 minutes just to reach the Nigel Road stop.

What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn--- What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit? I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword. Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time. Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.

The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost We're pretty much a centrist bunch. It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour? What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.

It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters up north. They also happened to be leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about his politics. Corbynmania was thing, a movement but it was also the making of his downfall. For the many and not the few came back and slapped him right in the face.

Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government. In my opinion and experience when debating with him it's because he's a muck stirrer, disingenuous, dismissive ,evasive, condescending and selective with regards to answering quoted posts. It's almost like he's trolling for attention and to agitate.

Many decades ago I worked just outside Heathrow on roadworks. Seeing and hearing Concord take off overhard was something else. We couldn't hear our Jack hammers for the noise of the jets. It was also an awesome sight being so close and directly underneath it.

My MP was helpful when we were forgotten about in the Gardens/ Kelmore grove for weeks on end. That was a few months back. After the service getting back to regular deliveries for a month or two it has now gone backwards again. Our postman said that our round is being adversely affected again due to a shortage of staff.. They deliver parcels daily but not letters. Time to have another email with my MP I think. Ellie Reeves was very helpful the last time we were left without deliveries. She actually visited Highshore Road sorting office and took them to task after myself and other residents contacted her office.
