  1. 3 weeks in July, i.e peak season, but no checks were done as far as I know. ETA: I recommend using the check & send service at the post office esp. if the timings are tight. It costs about ?8.

  4. You may get away without buying a new buggy. My daughter was 2y 1m when my son was born and I have carried him in a sling and had her in the buggy/walking. I have done this for 5 months now and it has worked well. I use the sling even when my daughter is at nursery and the buggy is not being occupied by her, as it's much easier to get about on public transport and in shops. As your son is older it may be that by the time your baby is too big to be carried your son would have completely outgrown using a buggy. You may save a few hundred pounds waiting for a few months after your baby arrives to see how things develop. Good luck with whatever you decide!

  9. Thank you for the replies above and the PMs, just the sort of advice I was looking for - sounds like what I need for the mornings when I think I ought to wash my hair but just don't have the time or the energy!
  10. The problem with my hair is that it is thick (I appreciate that is generally a good thing) and curly/frizzy, if left to dry naturally (not a good thing). Therefore, after washing my hair I leave it wrapped in a towel for an hour or so while I get on with other things and then blow dry it, which takes 20-30mins. This technique, which involves 20-30min of 'me-time', is no good in the morning when you have a toddler and a 5 month old. It's also no good in the evenings when you still have a toddler and a 5 month old, as I am too knackered. I'm curious about the Brazilian blow dry mentioned here on another thread, as I think it would be the answer to my hair woes - I would love to have 'wash & go' hair. However, I read somewhere that it is not recommended when nursing (or pregnant) and I am slightly nervous about the chemicals involved. So, does dry shampoo work, especially on thick hair? How much time does it buy before you have to wash your hair again? Any recommendations? Thanks!

Ah, it's the autocorrect function combined with me not reading my post before submitting. At least the post immediately following it was based on 'broken' rather than 'became'. 14. We also did potty training on holiday & recommend the potette plus potty, which can be used as a potty or as a toilet seat. Potette liners are very convenient but relatively pricey. The cheapest place I found for both was John Lewis online http://www.johnlewis.com/potette-plus-convertible-travel-potty-white-blue/p230587521?kpid=230587521&s_kenid=13cff9b7-b09e-a4e8-73b2-000052c32c69&s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73 although this may have changed recently. I found a very cheap & very effective alternative to the liners from mumsnet: basic pedal bin liners (which I double up to be extra secure) with a basics sanitary towel inserted to absorb the wee. We use this method at home (my daughter uses either the potty or loo depending on urgency) but use the potette liners when out, as it is more convenient. I found the tippee toes toilet seat brilliant for use at home http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tippitoes-Toilet-Trainer-Seat-Blue/dp/B00180V5HI Definitely lots of underwear & change of clothes but having your toddler naked/pants free where poss makes the initial part of training a lot easier. Finally, recommend these for the car seat/buggy/sofas to keep the wee & poo free http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sainsburys-price-comparison/nappy_accessories/pampers_change_mats_12.html Good luck!
