Deliveries this year. Comet, Bosch Washing machine,Beko Fridge Freezer and Electric Cooker all delivered to third floor flat. Dixons, Chest Freezer delivered to third floor flat.Graham Thomas bedding, double bed and mattress delivered to room of choice, assembled and all packaging removed.I am pleased to say I have never heard of kerbside deliveries.If any supplier only offered this type of delivery, they would not benefit from my custom.

Hi Sue, for five years I did a lot of international travelling on behalf of my company.I did not find any advantage in either card, however you will find certain establishments that will only take Visa or Mastercard, hence my reason for having both.As a matter of interest Visa are sponsoring the 2012 olympics and therefore Visa is the only card accepted on the Olympic site and all ATMs on the site are operated by Visa I believe.It seems "Felt Tip" was replying at the same time as me and we both agree regarding Visa and the Olympic site

I second the reccomendation for Alex, did a great job on our dishwasher at such a cheap price. I had to give him a tenner more than he asked for, so I could sleep at night without feeling guilty

I believe the complete registration mark would be useful to the good people on the EDF when on the look-out for your vehicle......Just a thought.

Reading through the posts on this thread it would seem to indicate that having a dropped kerb / cross over installed by the council would seem to be somewhat risky.If there is no obligation for the police to move a vehicle that is blocking driveway or cross over, you may find you cannot get your vehicle in or out of your property.Since the introduction of the congestion charge, many vehicles are parked in our road quite early in the morning and the drivers catch the bus into the city, collecting their cars in the evening to drive home after work.If one of these drivers blocked your council installled cross-over and driveway,your car may be trapped on your property all day and there does not appear that anything can be done to free your vehicle to get access to the public highway.Any sensible comments or suggestions appreciated.

Regarding vehicles blocking "Cross Overs" do any of the "Legalites" on the forum know what the position is regarding this problem. In other words, would the Police attend if called and would they do anything, or local council et al.

We had a "Cross Over" installed by Southwark about eight years ago and the cost then was about ?800.00. Please bear in mind that if you drive your vehichle over the public footpath and cause any damage whatsoever, the coucil will charge for the repair and probably also fine you.In addition if anyone were to fall or have an accident due to damage you may have caused to the footpath you may be set upon by an barrage of "No win No Fee" lawyers.

The Boiler Scrappage Scheme has just finished in England. I was fortunate enough and very grateful to get the ?400.00 allowance before the scheme ended on March 26, 2010. Good old Pete Bennison and his team did a lovely job.I noticed however, that the scheme has now started in Wales, as of April 6, 2010. The allowance in Wales for Scrappage is ?500.00, one hundred pounds more than the scheme for us living in poor old England. Any comments from the good people of the EDF.

We have been residents in Therapia since 1971. A very nice area I agree with all the above comments, nice quiet safe area.Good amenities we now even have a night bus the N63, a fairly recent development, I think.

Hi computedshorty, Fascinating, very grateful to read the information in your post. I grew up in the Peckham Camberwell area in the 60s and had no idea about the Tower apart from it originally being a cinema. Is it true that Rye Lane Bargain Centre, that had Rossi's the Ice Cream Parlour on one corner of the Rye Lane Entrance and I believe Sidney Fox the tailor on the other corner was also originally a cinema, The layout of the building certainly seems to lend itself to this. I also remember Jones & Higgins department store, great reminiscing.

A number of years ago I was summoned to South Western Magistrates Court having been charged with obstruction by a Police Officer. The officer demanded my name and address, which I gave him.I attended the court and the charge was read out. The registration number on the summons was incorrect by one letter. The Magistrate asked if I had anything to say and I explained that the registration number was incorrect, I had no entitlement to drive the vehichle named on the summons, nor had I ever driven the car on the summons.He asked me for the registration of the car I was driving and asked where it was. I explained it was parked in a road near the courthouse. The case was dismissed. I asked for costs for my time and received ?6.00.
