Since my wife had a stroke, I have installed a walk in bath. I have a bad back and prefer to have a bath mostly,however my wife can only shower.We have a combi boiler and both bath and shower work extremely well.The bath is absolutely standard, full size with the exception of the walk in door.We do not have any leakage problems with the door even when the bath is full, when showering the water just runs away down the plughole.I do not have to sit in the bath to wait for it to empty, I climb in and out as one would do with a standard bath and then allow the bath to empty.Although the bath cost just over ?1,000.00 plus installation, for us it has been the ideal solution and has been in use for over six months,without any problems whatsoever.

I have had a "pay as you go" phone with "Talk Mobile" for about two years, I have not had any problems at all. At the time it was the cheapest I could find, although this may not be the case now.

You cannot beat a 950 watt belt sander with a coarse 80 grit belt fitted,if going somewhere when you want to look especially smooth, finish of with the use of an orbital sander with 180 grit aluminium oxide paper.

Get a door phone,speak to them without going to the front door, one of the most useful items we have had fitted.

Many thanks Dulwich Fox.I think I may say I am on the computer, asked if I have "Windows" certainly lots of them in my home, very usefuil for seeing outside, also they let lots of light in during the daytime, also useful for telling what the weather is outside, gives us somewhere to hang the curtains. I will endeavour to keep him on the phone for at least half an hour or more, perhaps this will be enough of a deterrent to stop further nuisance calls.

Needless to say I did not do this and ended the call. On dialing 1471 the system told me the call came from a three digit phone number,049.Any info or advice welcome,I am very curious, the caller had a very bad line and seemed to have an Indian accent.

Further to my request from the good folk on the EDF, we contacted all of the opticians mentioned.The only one prepared to do a home visit was the "Crystal Eye Centre" 20 Westow Hill SE19 1RX 020 8766 7476. Anand the Optometrist who called was incredibly thorough and took approximately ninety minutes to complete my wife's eye test. He showed her a range of frames, two of these were chosen by her, as they had a second pair free offer.Her new spectacles were delivered by Anand exactly a week later and she is extremely pleased, I must also add that the cost was extremely reasonable.

Do any of the good folk oon the EDF know of an optician that makes home visits. Any info greatly appreciated.

The dog looked like a small Staffie or maybe a large Jack Russell. With regards to informing the police, for such a small amount of money lost . I think not.

They used to play at the end of Therapia for about twenty minutes and a memeber of the Sally Army would knock on doors to collect, we always donated.

A number of years ago I was stopped by a Police officer, who said my parked vehicle was causing an obstruction, and that I would receive a summons to appear in court. I gave details of my name and address and duly received said summons to appear at South Western Magistrates Court.The charge was read out and the Magistrate asked if I had anything to say.I said that the registration mark on the summons did not relate to my vehicle or any vehicle I had ever driven (One letter of the registration was incorrect).Magistrate said "no case to answer, case dismissed".

Same here, we receive HD Freview channels,although some occasionally drop the signal for fractions of a second, however we know it is a minor aerial problem that we can live with.

The bath would mainly be used for showering and only on a few occassions for bathing. My wife would only use the bath for showering, as climbing into the bath is not possible for her. I would use the bath for bathing as it helps my bad back, however, I can climb in and out of the bath without using the door, so would not have to sit in it while it emptied.Thank you all for your comments especially about the door leaking.

Do any of the good people on the EDF have any information regarding "Walk In Baths"? Any info greatly appreciated.
