  1. Exactly - nothing offensive about that
  2. I think it's lovely when they call you hen in Scotland.
  3. Thanks Colin - very helpful advice - I hope I never need to call you though.
  4. It depends Declan. George is grey but he's hot as hell. 50 isn't old but it's the age at which if you haven't taken care of yourself it will show. If you've got a paunch and you're otherwise in need of maintenance then I would get yourself down to Boots sharpish. Personally I find grey hair attractive but only when the rest of the guy's appearance isn't a turn off.
  5. This sucks
  6. Suddenly I thought of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0D0zfB1l1x0&feature=PlayList&p=98120A0CEBF6C3D7&index=0&playnext=1

  8. The Royal Family are lizards. Everyone knows that.
  9. And the point of this is what? If someone from Dulwich should happen to be convicted of paedophilia can we look forward to a thread entitled "Good to hear Dulwich are paedophiles". How uplifting for a Sunday evening.

Brendan, I have no idea at all but if it had happened to me I would probably wake up screaming about it for the rest of my life and would probably be really intolerent towards anyone giving an opinion I thought was half baked.
  11. Brendan, I appreciate you have strong feelings on this subject and, like PGC, I think you're a really terrific guy, but there's no need to be high handed. I for one am interested in any Fianna Fail comparison, which I think is what prompted Mic Mac to start this thread, because I've watched the changing fortunes of Adams/McGuinness over the years, as many of us have. I would prefer this thread not to turn into a shouting match.
  12. Fabulous. What are you wearing? I've gone with houndstooth.

    CV's

Sorry if this sounds patronising but, when you've finished writing your CV and read it through half a dozen times for typos - give it to someone else and ask them to check for typos and such. You would be amazed how blind you become to a document you've read often.
  14. What does that mean exactly Brendan? It seems very high handed. So the British perspective in invalid, yes? Whose perspective is valid? Yours? Anyone else?
  15. He was a huge talent - massive. You cannot wear an Alexander McQueen outfit without turning heads; it's as simple as that. Even an LBD will have a twist; it won't be JUST a little LBD. His clothes are very special. To be honest I never thought about him much as a man; I just like wearing his clothes. I do know that he recently lost his mother and he had found that hard to bear. What will happen to all the staff and shops now? It's a named brand so it's not as if someone can just step into the breach. After this current collection there's nothing to keep them going. There's all the shop staff, warehouse staff, dressmakers etc? The immediate future looks pretty bleak for them doesn't it. I suppose they could resurrect some of his most brilliant designs as a tribute to him which, if you ask me, is a pretty good idea. An uber-talented life cut short. Quite shocking. I'm wearing MqQueen all day today, even though I'm at home and might go no further than Cafe Nero.
  16. OMG Alexander McQueen is dead at 40. A great talent snuffed out. I shall style myself as my own personal memorial tomorrow - McQueen head to foot.
  17. I do a lovely pudding. Apple Charlotte, floating islands, Eton mess.
  18. Hey - Danny!
  19. Today, I'm mostly finding this annoying: !!!! Guys, there only needs to be one exclamation mark. Just the one. If just one was good enough for Shakespeare the rest of us can make do.
  20. Sabrina - Celine Dion on repeat? Is there an S&M Club in ED that don't know about?
  21. If you invited someone to your house for dinner and they pegged it over the pudding, would you allow your home to be a shrine for grieving friends and relatives? Maybe put some fake flowers in a corner of the dining room. For how long?
  22. Having given it a bit of thought, I think memorials should be left for three months max. Anything longer than that and they look way too tatty. As sorry as I am for someone's loss, I think it's depressing to see a faded shrine day in and day out.

An ex-boyfriend of mine interviewed Marc Bolan a couple of weeks before he died and told him (my ex) that he was going to die young and in a car accident. Creepy huh. I totally believe my ex because he interviewed everyone and hardly ever spoke about the people he inteviewed. The tree in Barnes where he died is indeed always adorned, all these decades later. White bicycles - there are a few of those dotted about and they make me shudder.
  24. I love Roxy Music to bits, especially the 70s stuff. They got a bit too smoochy in the 80s. I could listen to them all day - and sometimes I do. My earliest memories of ToTP were of Roxy Music being incredibly glamorous.
  25. Oh heavens PGC, Sister Kevin could never have said "sexual intercourse" I'm afraid. Just "intercourse". But there again, her day job was teaching maths, not English.
