  3. Has anyone else had the Pixies email asking what songs they should play at the Troxy gigs? Bless. How lovely. What to reply?
  4. Ah yes I see. But it's very hard to turn down a cash cow isn't it? Really it takes super-human strength when you've got bills to pay. Just saying.
  5. I didn't know that PCG. And I'm from farming stock. Why? In a nutshell.

    Great Gigs

The pre-sale only has circle seats left now and I wouldn't recommend circle - they won't let you STAND up there, let alone DANCE. What's the point of seeing a dance band and being made to sit on your hands? They might put some more standing tickets on later. Otherwise, hold off until the onsale (probably Friday) and then try first thing through the wonderful www.stargreen.com. I'm pretty sure the Thursday will go on sale too - at least I hope so - that's my night out. I really need a fun night out at the Scissor Sisters tick all the fun boxes. What to wear though? Px
  7. I don't understand why we're sticking the boot into Obama. I think we should concentrate on our own mess.

Presale link for Scissor Sisters. Personally I'm crossing my fingers and holding out for the Thursday. Px http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user?query=search&region=xxx&category=misc&search=Scissor%20Sisters&interface=o2priority&&referral_id=tw_uk_buyat
  9. I'm feeling the love Pickle. Such a shame that we're so resigned to people not stepping up to help though. It's great when it happens. Px
  10. I'm off to get drunk. God help us all.
  11. Oh dear, that link doesn't work does it. Try putting in item number 563297
  12. Those are truly fabulous shoes but I actually cannot walk in Alexander McQueen heels - they just don't work for me. I know this for fact because I buy the dresses and they bring you shoes to try on with the dresses and I can barely make it out of the changing room to the mirror without clinging to an assistant for support. But if you can walk in them then buy them with your huge bonus for your tireless efforts and organising the most perfect press launch! The picture on the website does not do these shoes justice - they are really beautiful in the flesh (so to speak): http://www.alexandermcqueen.co.uk/uk/en/shop/Womenswear/Spring-Summer-10/Shoes/P-STUDDED-SKULL-FLAT-SANDAL.aspx I was very tempted but I had already spent too much. I do like the McQueen bag very much - and it's rare for me to be taken with a black handbag - I ususally avoid them. But it's beautiful and it's sophisticated and it's a classic. When you get bored with it just put it away and when you take it out again it will feel brand new - not like "last year's arm-candy". Classic. Best of luck for tomorrow and I'm sure that martini will taste like the best you've ever hand.
  13. Here it is: http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/walk.yah.UKGD~U084 It's cordless, doesn't weigh too much and has a telescopic handle. A bit plastic-y but it got the job done. I haven't seen anything comparable in the shops. The tools I've seen in the shops were too heavy to be practical (for me). Also, I'm not very tall unless I'm in heels (and I would have to rule out gardening in heels) so telescopic tics a box for me. There's a sycamore tree next door which strangles my garden and I cut it right back without very much effort and in no time at all. I've been looking at the garden in dismay for weeks and wondering how to get to grips with it - and it was all taken care of in less than an hour and then a bit of tidying up. I don't want to throw money at the garden at the moment because I'm going to re-model it completely when I've finished the house (hopefully by the Autumn). As I said, it's a bit plastic-y and I don't know how durable it will be - but if it wasn't made of plastic I wouldn't be able to lift it up high for any length of time. So it's a trade off really.

Gimmicky maybe but she's also great fun and sometimes you don't want to play it safe - you want something that shocks / surprises / indulges .... Having said that - I love that McQueen bag. What's happening tomorrow. Tell us now in case you're too pissed to post tomorrow. Px

But I already have this: http://www.alexandermcqueen.co.uk/uk/en/shop/Womenswear/Spring-Summer-10/Bags/P-UNION-JACK-SKULL-CLUTCH.aspx It's beautiful. I can't stop looking at it. One Union Jack is enough though. This is the one I have been coveting: http://www.luluguinness.com/ProductPage.aspx?productId=LULU0067151055603 But I like the silver one too. And the red.

  17. No - not really my thang - neither fish nor fowl. What would you wear them with?
  18. I'm liking the black clutch best. Red and pink flowers and pearls. Oooooh. Clutch bags are bliss. I remember buying my first one and it was the most grown up feeling in the world. I was coveting the Lulu Guinness lips clutch in fushia but I went with the Alexander McQueen Union Jack clutch instead and two would have been too greedy. It doesn't hold much and it weighs a lot but I love it. He also does a clutch that doubles as a knuckle duster. That could come in handy. The shoes are not working for me. I despise trainers outside of the gym. I'll need to google and get a visual - I might come round to them later. Px
  19. Do you have the Lulu lips handbag? What colour? Do you have the rose bucket bag? What colour? Talk to me - I need visuals. Shoes and handbags are my porn.
  20. He'll have to fight me for it and I can fight dirty when there's fashion involved.
  21. Finding a Hermes scarf that I thought was long lost in the pocket of a coat I haven't worn in two years. Bliss.

Georgia - you're a real star to do what you do. I've only been twice but I enjoyed the ones I went to very much. I promise to come in September. Enjoy the break. Px
  23. Brendan, Strangely enough I just can't get a visual on that. Px
  24. Oh dear dear Scootagal. Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope I never run into you at the cinema. Perhaps PM me when you've got plans and I'll stay away. Or we could carve up territory. I go to Beckenham Odeon mostly. I'm still far too young to be sucking my popcorn so a line must be drawn. I once spectacularly set fire to myself during Gone With The Wind at the Odeon South End Green. In the days when I smoked (obviously) and in the days when you could still smoke pretty much anywhere. That probably cheesed off some purists. It wasn't even during the "Atlanta burning" scene so I couldn't put it down to audience participation.
