  1. Well, there is a councillor Charlie Smith. But whether he is the actual OP is open for debate. Seems a strange first posting for a councillor.
  2. Bad attempts at taxidermy. This had me crying with laughter. Especially the horse. The horse is just spectacular. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/gallery/2014/sep/12/the-worlds-worst-stuffed-animals-in-pictures
  3. Damned elite. My wife asked me this morning who ate the last of the chocolate, I said it was probably the elite. They get everywhere, you know. They also keep leaving the light on in the toilet. I think that's why some people refer to them as the Illuminati.
  4. That's not right RPC - she is holding off that part of the verdict until tomorrow. But, judging by what she said before the adjournment, she seemed to be building up towards a 'guilty' on culpable homicide/manslaughter.
  5. Apparently there were three conviction possibilities: - premeditated murder - murder without premeditation: an intent to kill, but with no planning, in the heat of the moment - manslaughter, or culpable homicide The judge has so far ruled out either of the first two, leaving only culpable homicide/manslaughter.
  6. ITV news did a poll last night - 20% of Londoners think independence for London would be a good thing, with 44% of 25-34 year olds agreeing. Not sure about London alone, but I think an independent south-east would work. Say, north to Cambridgeshire and west to Reading/Berkshire.
  7. I've always suspected he'd get manslaughter. Couldn't get anything less, really. But there didn't seem to be the evidence for murder. The prosecution's case didn't seem that strong to me - all conjecture, no evidence.
  8. When I see a recommend or a complaint, the first thing I do (if I don't recognise the name) is to click the name/s and check the number of posts. Anyone with only 1 or 2 posts I treat with much suspicion. Anyone with 50+ I figure are reasonably genuine. There's a lot of people that mainly post in the family room who I don't recognise by name, but have good posting histories.
  9. Given the number of sweeteners being bandied around now, a 'no' will see everyone else subsidising the Scots by a not insignificant amount. My heart hopes they stay, but my head is starting to say, "goodbye, good luck and you can pay for it all yourself'.
  10. Was a reading taken when you moved in? Or have Thames Water been doing estimates for a few years and has just got around to doing a proper reading.
  11. It's not your hand we're worried about...

Prices aren't falling. According to people tracking these things, they are just not rising as fast as they were.
  13. Strangely, I think the latest poll (showing the yes vote at 51%) is going to hurt the 'yes' vote. A few weeks ago, voting yes was a harmless way to show Scottishness/stick it up the Tories/stick it up the English/whatever. Now 'yes' has a serious chance of winning, I think a lot of people will think twice.
  14. You could invest in one of these, providing you have broadband. http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-accessories/sure-signal Threaten to leave Vodaphone and you might be able to blag a free one.
  15. tommyk2000 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Lots of good info at: http://ipayroadtax.com , > Natty. That's the stupidest, most badly argued site I've seen in a while. Someone has spent a lot of time putting together a web site whining about a single casual piece of terminology. What next? londondsareacodeisreally020.co.uk? mussolinididntmakethetrainsrunontime.it? youcantseethegreatwallofchinefromthemoon.com? duckquacksdoecho.tv? Hopefully getalife.com might still be available.
  16. So, the rich ones will pay their loans back at a stupid interest rate and the poor ones won't? Seems rather a lefty policy.
  17. Ebay. 3 for ?2.

Currently, yes. But that hasn't always been the case. They do change the criteria every now and again. And, if loads and loads of people switched to electric cars or bicycles tomorrow, guess what the Treasury would do? Slap the road tax on electric cars/bicycles.
  19. I'd be less concerned with the lot that post about every week or so if they slipped admin a tenner every time they post. But I bet they don't.
  20. That law only applies to databases with specific content - not just any database containing information about U18s.
  21. But will police piece together what happened?
  22. I have a QNAP NAS. It's a nice piece of hardware, but the software is really soddingly annoying. It tries to make you put stuff only in particular folders and its DNLA refuses to recognise track numbers. And I thought Squeezebox was effectively dead now?
  23. This has to be the worst acting career ever. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1856457/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t53
  24. Well, basically, I'd obviously agree with that.
  25. Um... I tend to use awesome a bit, too. But in my defence, I have been spending my time of late teaching snowboarding.
