No, it's the busiest bit because the pickup/set down spot is there and everyone who doesn't realise that all those spaces are reserved drive through there. Stick the parent/child spots at the back and the front of store will still be very busy. As we note from this thread, there seems to be more than enough P/C spaces, since buddog found quite a few to park in. Even when the shop was supposedly quite busy.

Seems unlikely - comms/locator turned off at convenient point between two nation's traffic control, sharp turn followed by movement from waypoint to waypoint... would all suggest that someone who can expertly fly a 777 is taking the plane somewhere preplanned. The question is: did they make it?

And the bit where they are most likely to lose control of their kids (while pulling out/putting in car seats and shopping) is in the quiet bit.

That was one of the original thoughts, but the plane seemingly moved from navigation waypoint to navigation waypoint, plus changed altitude a number of times, making it more likely that an experience pilot was still in control. But, if you can overlook the horrible situation that a couple of hundred people are missing, it's a fascinating story.

TFL consultation about Elephant and Castle

If there are dedicated off-road cycle lanes, will cycles be banned form the road for the areas where they exist? I'm betting not. -

So why put them in the busiest part of the car park, then? That's where this argument always falls down.

The comms system can be turned off from the cockpit, but there is still a handshake signal that is sent every hour. This continued for 8 hours after the last communication, meaning the plane still was intact and had electricity. Only one satellite picks up this transmission, so an exact location cannot be determined, just the approximate distance (based on the ping response time) from the single satellite (thus the arc being shown on the newspaper maps). I'm just waiting for Bruce Willis to turn up. It's the next logical plot twist.

Number 12 is like to old "There are only 10 types of people in the world - those that understand binary and those that don't". Programmers generally work in either decimal or groups of bits (i.e. binary). But writing stuff in binary is a long way of writing stuff, so they tend to use octal (base 8) or hexadecimal (base 16) as it's easy to convert. So, 25 in decimal is 31 in octal... and 011001 in binary and 19 in hex. So Dec 25 = Oct 31 = Hex 19. As for the bread on, it depends how you read it and programmed it. It could be either. This is how bugs start... imprecise specs! Personally - I'd say it was 12. She said get 12, not 12 more. So it would be: [pre]getBread() { noLoaves = 1; if (eggsAvailable) { noLoaves = 12; } }[/pre]

Is this a colossal wind up or actually the most pathetic thread ever on here? (and, boy that > takes some doing) To be fair, having to provide special parking places so people can get their fat kids out of their too-big cars was a first-world solution to a first world-problem in the first place.

Same here, ratty. Nice bit facing outwards for the front fence, but for the rest I get the nice view!

Private perking fines are generally unenforceable - they are 'invoices' rather than 'fines' (though they dress them up to look like official fines). But, you need to respond in the right way to stay on the right side of the law. Here's a good guide... http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets

Hmm. Might have been a bit more honest to post up a comment along the lines of "oooh our yoga business has got an article in the Standard" than this 'mystery' posting of a URL. It now looks like an ad that should be in the business section.

With my normal useful 20/20 hindsight, you maybe called have called the normal police number with a suspected stolen car, since it sounds like the driver didn't much care you had his reg number.
