  1. Basic business: How to establish your price. 1) Add up your expected costs 2) Apply a profit margin 3) There is your price The green responsibilities adds to costs. Therefore price will reflect this.
  2. Sounds like my suspicions were unfounded, so my apologies to jbodey for doubting you. Out of interest, what is the commission that No-Flies charge? (awful name, IMHO)
  3. Hmmm. All the signs are there: first time poster, gushingly positive, reads like an business flyer. That second paragraph in paricular reads like standard agency copy. Apologies if I'm wrong, but it's a stunt that's been pulled around here many, many times.
  4. Anyone smell a rat?

I'm not disagreeing with your other comments, but I hate it when people say this. It's not valid and only serves to try and shut down debate. I mean, why not apply it to other situations? - "oooh unless you've actually been a Southwark bin man you have no right to judge" - "oooh unless you've actually been parent of a child running around the coffee shop you have no right to judge" - "oooh unless you've actually been a member of the royal family you have no right to judge" People have opinions. They're allowed to have opinions.
  6. Together with your budget. It'll help those who may respond if they know if they are in your ballpark.

Actually come to think of it it may be a factual comment, certainly I am sure that most > Americans are more stupid than monkeys. Why is it that people who want to come across as anti-racist still manage to write stuff like this?
  8. Yep - brilliantly fast. Well recommended. Their TV package is not nearly as good as Sky, though.
  9. Get into a Metro Bank. None of their cards (debit or credit) have any foreign loading charges and you get the standard (very, very good) Visa rate. The issue (including cards) everything on the spot, so you can be in and out in 30 mins or so. Chuck some money into your new holiday account and yer off!

  11. I am so torn in this one. I agree a free press is sacrosanct, but there has been so much abuse of the privilege. If the PCC hadn't been such a toothless wonder then it wouldn't have got to this. It needs something done, but it must not lead to government controls. But what 'that' is I really don't know.
  12. Interesting concept, but how would it be delivered? Benefits part-paid in food stamps?
  13. OD Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > does that then mean I'm sexist (and the oppoiste of sexist!) and ageist?!! Ricidulous!!! Why would someone call you sexist and the opposite of sexist? (I assume that would be 'not sexist').

Which is an amazing low rate for borrowing. But there is a huge difference between taking a 10 year fix and assuming that other rates will stay that way for the next 10 years.
  15. You could always try the lovely people at Paine & Hunter on Lordship Lane.
  16. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Feed the monkey. > > You can't say that Roy. You have to see in the context of the joke that accompanied the comment. Mind you, it does show that someone in the England dressing room is gunning for Hodgeson. Who is the mole?
  17. Interesting point just made on the BBC news. "In truth politicians of all colours are having to grapple with not one energy crisis but three: rising bills, climate change and the very real threat of blackouts. It's easy to say that you'll cut bills at the same time as putting pressure on them to rise to pay for greener energy and greater investment in new power stations to stop the lights going out. If you're the politician who can convince voters you can actually do it you're on to a winner."

  19. Have you tried Sydenham? Bit rough in places, but up and coming.
  20. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > what would have triggered that tho? Until someone started this campaign raising this issue about six months ago, I didn't even realise the UK had food banks. I suspect I'm not alone. The profile of food banks has been raised considerably.
  21. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It seems self-evident that it's a sign of something being wrong Thus my first paragraph... what exactly is the problem we have here? Is it lack of money/benefits, benefit bureaucracy, or other issues? Just saying 'we have a self-evident problem' is no analysis, it's an assumption.
  22. Is it relative poverty (i.e. the 60% of median wage thing) or absolute poverty (no food)? If it is the second "real" poverty then they question must be asked: why? It's easy to say 'oooh look at the nasty Tories" (which I suspect was the point of this piece, but that is forgetting that they haven't actually cut a lot (yet) and Labour would have done much the same. So... what is the solution? Is it purely money (therefore more benefits) or is there some other factor here?
  23. Curiously, London is quite low down in the areas where properties are bought mortgage-free (i.e. cash), given the supposed level of city bonuses and overseas buyers. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/mortgageshome/article-2454161/Cash-buyer-hotspots-A-homes-bought-mortgage.html
  24. My understanding is you need to have at least a 5% deposit, not a max of 5%.
  25. Well, you could make it more 'ED' by photographing cycling on the pavement in ED. Shouldn't be too difficult.
