  1. Oh, as long as she and her various partners are consenting adults and no one is getting hurt, I say go for it, girl. Enjoy yourself.
  2. From the top of Dog Kennel Hill, I always though it looked like an airplane had crashed into it and taken out the middle section.
  3. Does Nunhead actually exist? I thought it was estate agent speak for some of the more unpopular parts of Peckham Rye. ;)
  4. This shouldn't really make me laugh, but it did... http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/nov/16/al-qaida-jihadists-syria-mistakenly-behead-ally
  5. But isn't that the problem, ruffers? Who is responsible? The kid? Seems not. His parents? Nope. The poor sods who had their cars vandalised? Well, it seems they are responsible for paying for the damage (if even via their insurance companies). So, yep - they're the ones.
  6. Spelling mistake.
  7. Don't miss the new mini-episode prequel to the 50th anniversary Dr Who, then. If Rule 1 is "the Doctor lies", then Rule 2 must be "so does Steven Moffat". http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/doctor-who/28197/doctor-who-watch-the-night-of-the-doctor-mini-episode-here
  8. But could you put up with the sniggering every time you told someone where you live? (see also: Maidenhead, Dorking, Pratts Bottom)
  9. 70688, which wasn't bad considering I obviously have no idea where Newcastle is and I thought Cannock would be in Scotland.

You do generally get a nice little garden and off street parking. The big bonus is that, as they are houses, they are all freehold. Not too many come onto the market. Last 2 bed went for about ?375k,
  11. Well, I've always thought the whole 1% thing was fairly meaningless, so you probably won't get an argument out of me on that one.
  12. Edited 'coz I couldn't read properly... Treat those figures with caution, as the blurb that accompanies them says "It's a rough figure based on data from 72 countries, omitting some of the world's poorest nations.". So your ?21k a year is double the average salary of the more richer nations in the world. It also omits self-employed, so all poor subsistence farmers. It also omits the non-employed. Add in all these and you would almost certainly find yourself in the 1% on ?21k.
  13. But, on the other hand, a very 'poor' persons lifestyle here would be seen as an attractive lifestyle from the perspective of someone far more 'middle-class' in those countries.

    Cycle Safety

Gabe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ratty, filtering is perfectly legal. Filtering, like any form of overtaking, if legal done SAFELY. But if there is an accident, then it is, logically, almost certainly your fault. The traffic code specifically mentions "approaching or at a road junction" as an unsafe place.
  15. I for one will miss her weekly strangling of some well-known song.

Why do I suspect now you are actually a friend of Richard Ayoade and he just wanted some free advertising on the EDF...?
  17. General tip - NEVER open an attachment or click on a link unless you are expecting it. Few places send them these days. Current scams include parcel notifications, tax notifications, Paypal notifications, bank notifications, etc, etc. A good indictor is anything addressed to you by email name (Dear [email protected]...) is a scam. Check that the email address is forged - on hotmail/outlook you'll see the sender is something like "[email protected] ([email protected])" Also, if you get an email saying 'your account is frozen - click here and give us all your details", then be alert. If you hover over (not click) the link you'll see in the browser status bar at the bottom of the window the ACTUAL url you will be sent to (something like "http://www.sitename.ru/bankscampage.html").

Jerry, You seem to have an interest here - do you care to declare it?
  19. Do Foxton's ever advise people to hold out? I would have thought their percentage of the extra was inconsequential to them and they'd rather just have the sale. I suspect the cheaper place has meant an offer is yet to emerge.
  20. Also, pretty much impossible.

  24. When I bought here waaay back in 1999, plus when I nearly changed house in 2006, you had to physically walk into each estate agent each Saturday morning and talk to them. 'Registering' really meant sod all.
  25. Use 'Paste Special' and then select 'Values'. You only get the value of each cell, rather than the formulae behind them.
