  1. Are the Radio 4 debaters bashing the bishops?

Having looked into one of these about 10 years ago (then deciding they were not a good idea and getting a normal mortgage) they were not, strictly speaking, a 125% mortgage. They were two loans wrapped up: a 95% mortgage secured on the property and a 30% personal loan. Still a bad idea though.
  3. The UK IT company I work for has a share price that is currently trading at about 3% of their value at the height of the dot-com boom. You could say that it was kind of affected. Just a little.
  4. Wait until another council, say Tower Hamlets, starts enforcing Muslim prayers before meetings. Pickles' position will change in about 30 milliseconds.
  5. My favourite... "But first I'd like to talk to you about God..."
  6. Can't be arsed putting on a shirt, but here's one I posted last week. Bit of jiggery-pokery needed to make the EDF stand out.
  7. I kept trying to think of who Capello reminded me of. Then I twigged... http://wallpapers99.com/Up--w800x600--0--0--images/wallpaper/800x600/Up_8994.jpg
  8. One question: why the hell would anyone want to be England manager anyway? Especially if they are managing a decent sized Premiership (or equivalent) club. Seems like a pretty thankless job to me, unless you can pull off some sort of miracle.

  10. Dammit maxxi... I was too slow!
  11. Slow cooked?

I never realised how much Brown oversaw such a budget blowout in the last two years of his office.

  14. Looser for loser. Which is ironic, really.
  15. To be fair on iheartED2, I've been to the Adventure Bar and the 'friendliness' is so fake that it immediately rubs you up the wrong way. They have obviously all be sent on a course to 'engage with the customer' in a way to try to give the impression they are all Sam from Cheers or some other barman in your local. It just doesn't work, though.

  17. He's passable in the short games (though they don't let him bowl enough). Not good enough for a test berth, though.
  18. Only when you can find someone to replace him with. The bench looks pretty empty.

Lots of uninterrupted time for you to be burgled!! But surely if everyone leaves their curtains open if they are away then closed curtains would indicate to a burglar that someone was in? Or am I double bluffing myself?
  20. I thought the basic premise of this study - i.e. that prejudiced = right wing, to be a bit of a basic flaw. 'Far right', then they may have point, but to that I'd say far left people are equally moronic. But maybe that's because I actually believe that far left and far right are actually pretty close to each other. Almost like the political landscape is a big circle. Which is why a lot of BNP support comes from traditional Labour voters.
  21. Well done caz! Should be awesome. That rehearsal schedule does not half look daunting though!
  22. I've got a spot in the opening ceremony!! (Provided I can attend a huge heap of rehearsals.)

I don't know any advertising/media types myself, but I suspect that they are a pretty normal set of people - some good, some bad, with some successful ones that have probably worked hard to get ahead in their industry. What ED (or anywhere, for that matter) doesn't need it the type that reads the Guardian comments website, nodding furiously without actually doing any thinking. You know - the deeply prejudiced hate-monger that trots out (pun intended) any old Class Warfare 101 rubbish whether or not the topic at hand warrants it.
