    Diet

Buying 'diet' shakes seems like a sure-fire way to lose plenty of pounds. If you're lucky, you might lose some weight as well.
  2. Though, when you give your address, you will be always answering the question, "What? Like the vegetable?".

  4. Hmmm. Have anyone ever seen *Bob* and Ken in the same room? :))
  5. Decent program, but it's not GBBO in any way, shape or form. They're just cashing in on the name. Bloody capitalists.

Possibly, but ?16k is way overpriced to even have the whole thing rewired completely.
  7. As someone else said, the real issue is the price. ?16k per flat is an extraordinary amount - what is being done for that sort of money??

Not only that, but you can vote at any polling station, not just the one you've been assigned. (Which mitigates most of the arguments about voting on Saturday.)
  9. Can any washer/dryer dry a full load? From memory, the max drying load was always roughly about half the max wash load.
  10. Well, you are betting on the future. Personally I don't think interest rates are going to jump up any time soon (i.e. in the next two years). I've just plumped for a two year fix. I went for a 1.99% deal, but that was fee-free and we have the mortgage down to a point where that's a better deal than forking out ?1000+ in fees. The three year was nearly a half point more and so I'm betting that interest rates won't go up by more than that in by 2019. I might be wrong, but only the future will tell. The tracker was only a 0.15% better rate. But, 5 year fixes are good for those on a budget. If you want surety in your outgoings, then maybe they are for you.
  11. Is that really 'civic mindedness', though? If I has a food shop, I'd say it was rather in my interests that the bin right outside my shop didn't smell.
  12. I've had two Hoovers and they've been fine. Mind you, I only tend to use the dryer in emergencies.
  13. They're also almost entirely useless on side streets. Great for motorways, though.

I've seen Owen Jones do other stuff and he really does have some quite reasonable arguments. But whenever he writes for the G, he conjures up complete horsecrap. And he's not the only one - David Mitchell has started writing some really terrible columns there as well. I'd suspect it was the sub-editors at work, but we know the Grauniad has never employed any.

I think Labour, Tories and the LibDems all picked up seats that would have usually gone to the SNP.
  16. Maybe use the pellets as bait on the traps? It's obviously developed a liking for them.

Which, in most parts of London, is just fantasy thinking.
  18. Corbyn does the absolute bare minimum to keep the wolves at bay, but can't be seen in any way to be turning things around after GE2015. Tories do a little better, but from a fairly low base. SNP lose overall control of Holyrood. Scottish Labour takes yet another walloping. Scottish Tories do better, but again from a very low base. Welsh Labour lose a little ground in terms of seats, but a lot more in terms of vote share. Plaid Cymru do roughly the same as last time. LibDems do a tiny, weeny bit better in England and Scotland. UKIP benefited from electoral change in Wales. They also increase their vote share, but still not converting these into results. Did anyone actually do enough to claim a good day at the polls?
  19. Do you really want to kick this thread off again, Atticus? It didn't work out very well for you last time.
  20. "Me and my likes"? Christ, you're an arse.

  22. If your first choice was either Tory or Labour, your second choice was irrelevant.
