Should of got my Vaccine weeks ago. But you are not shielding, Dulwich Fox, are you? I know you are 68 and ill, but It was people over 70, and people advised to shield (as clinically extremely vulnerable), who received appointments earlier. If you were shielding you would have been receiving letters which amongst other things strongly advised you not to go to the shops, even to a pharmacy, but to get all your shopping online or via somebody else. On another thread I suggested you ask your GP if you thought you should have been classified as clinically extremely vulnerable. Anyway, it's irrelevant now and I'm glad you are getting your first jab :)

Apparently that has happened in other geographical areas as well. Sometimes it was said it was because the priority groups had all been vaccinated, but in other cases it was apparently due to errors. Who knows?!

You could try phoning the Citizens Advice Bureau (if they still exist?) Or possibly there might be a relevant department in Southwark Council? Or does the agency (or the landlord) belong to some professional body you could report them to (unlikely, from what you say)? How much longer is this man likely to be working in your house? Do we still have community police officers? Might one of those be able to advise? I really feel for you, the situation sounds appalling.

Not bad enough to treat yet, but will only get worse. Oh happy happy days 🙂

Why don't you trolls crawl back under your bridge? It's pathetic.

We had 8 sparrows, two wood pigeons and three mice. Two what might have been great tits in a tree overlooking my garden, don't think that counts. One crow flew over, don't think that counts either. The peacock didn't show up this year 🤣 ETA: Interested in the info about binoculars, thanks.

Yes that was what brought it to mind.

Whoeveritis Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I hate these lofts, they completely ruin the > Victorian houses. Ugly doesn?t even come in to it. I think there are worse things than lofts which ruin the Victorian style of the houses. At least you generally only see the hideous lofts from the back. Inappropriate double glazed windows at the front which aren't sash windows are worse, I think, and also plantation (I think they're called) shutters, though I can see from a functional point of view they are good. ETA: Anyway, I think Bob is probably referring to the original loft, not some carbuncle stuck onto it. ETA: As you were, sorry 😂

An optician once told me those very expensive reading lamps you see advertised are a waste of money. He told me what to get, which I have a note of somewhere, but it was just something ordinary. I use an IKEA floorstanding Anglepoise-type lamp, and it's fine.

niall Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > it was revealed that it had to be administered > through the eyeball to have the required > protection? Yes. I'm more squeamish about having cataracts removed, which is not far off according to my optician ....

I have a Scottish parent. Does that mean if Scotland gains independence I can have a Scottish passport? And if it joins the EU, an EU passport? Assuming I live that long, of course 😂

But I may have got this completely wrong, in those days I only visited Lordship Lane to go to the Dulwich Tandoori on a Saturday night 😂

redjam Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wonder what the rationale is for clearing out all > the vegetation. I imagine it's so that the water can run away more easily, and not be left to make the surrounding ground waterlogged. We have work parties twice a year on our allotment site, and among the things done are clearing any vegetation blocking the ditches/drains which take away water. Like everywhere else the site is very waterlogged in places at the moment though. One of the oldest plotholders says it's the wettest winter he can remember, and he thinks it's due to climate change 😥

Thanks for that explanation, JRJ.

Agreed. It was a pity a lot of threads disappeared last time, though understandable. And it would be great to have some warning if our PMs are going to disappear!
