There are several websites where you can enter a photo and get it immediately reduced to the required size. Can't remember the names offhand but a quick Google should bring them up. Alternatively, any photo editing software would be able to do it, I think. As you say, it's the file size which needs to be reduced, not the dimensions of the photo.

The picture has now been updated to show one of Norma, but the description hasn't been. Thousands of people from all over the world have donated: https://ko-fi.com/elizacarthy

I've just read this article, and I'm wondering what people have noticed locally re the increasingly earlier flowering of plants in their gardens and elsewhere. I was at Kew yesterday and they are certainly seeing it there. The knock on effects on insects and then birds is very alarming. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/feb/02/flowers-arriving-month-early-uk-climate-heats-up-bloom-insects-birds?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other This link from the above article also suggests what plants we can plant in our gardens to help the situation: https://www.rhs.org.uk/science/conservation-biodiversity/plants-for-bugs I hope the trend for bare "gardens" with hardly any actual plants in them, let alone wildlife friendly plants, is on its way out. Being around plants and trees and being able to see them from our windows is also very important for our own mental health, particularly in an urban environment where we increasingly have even the sky blocked out by high buildings and more and more loft extensions.

But her hands are now tied because of the Met involvement.

Re monitoring, some years back, they used people who sent and received items to and from different areas. The items were not recognisable to Royal Mail staff (in theory) and the addresses were hand written. I did it for a while. I was "paid" in books of first class stamps, and sometimes commemoration packs (not sure what they are called). I had to record when particular items were sent by me, and when others were received. Some I had to post over the counter and get proof of posting. I got fed up with it after a while 😀 But I still have loads of first class stamps. Handy for cards 🤣

Or is opened and then you don't know > what it is and where it has come from, and then > there is the knock at the door. High value > things, we were told expensive items. But that doesn't make sense? What is the scam, exactly? Someone is changing the addresses on the parcels, so that it is delivered to someone else, hence the recipient isn't expecting it? Because for it to be a scam, the second person coming to the door would need to know that the person it was delivered to isn't the intended recipient. And how would they know that, if it was delivered to the original address on the package? Is someone repackaging parcels so that the new address hasn't obviously been tampered with? Have I missed something here? (quite likely 🙄)

There was a consultation and as a result it was definitely agreed that a crossing would be installed there. There is a thread on here about it a while back. -

So there we are. If true. ?400m given to shareholders. Not in total. Just last year. Apparently. 😡 This is where Royal Mail's priorities now lie. I'm guessing the quality of service random checks they used to do across different areas (and published) were at some point quietly dropped 😡 https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-10455479/Trio-senior-bosses-leave-Royal-Mail-Christmas-woe.html

Yes. Amazing what happens when name, age, address and any other personal information which could lead to unfair discrimination is removed from applications and CVs before the people making the recruitment decisions see them.

There was supposed to be a pedestrian crossing installed at this junction by now. Does anybody know what has happened re that? -
How would they know the parcel was "unexpected"? That seems a bit strange!

In fact I think we already have Sandyman, the issues with ED are solely to do with DELIVERY within ED There are no problems with items POSTED here to be delivered outside the area. Different offices are involved, as outlined elsewhere in this thread.

Higher up, yes. > Who on here has blamed the people delivering the post? Everybody has expressed sympathy with the posties as far as I can see! It is quite clearly management who is to blame, at various levels.
