?9.95?! You should have taken it back and complained. They would have refunded you. I doubt there is much crossover between M&S customers and Co-op customers. Once M&S opened, I rarely used the Co-op. Even though I fully support their ethic, apart from a few things, M&S just seemed better value, and was actually cheaper than I had expected. ETA: However, once I can, I will definitely check the new Co-op out. But they had always seemed to have supply problems, or management problems, or both, particularly in the fruit and veg section. ETA: I think M&S generally have problems, though less so with the food side. They have major problems on the clothing side, for various reasons, and now they are closing their bank. Which is very annoying as I have a current account with them (luckily not my main account) and now I've got to move it elsewhere. Though at least it's much easier to do that these days. Sorry admin, way off topic, stream of consciousness, as you were, back to the Co-op 🙂

I find pigeon behaviour fascinating. A pair of wood pigeons come to feed at the ground feeder in my garden. The male (I presume. Large and bossy 🤣) takes over the feeder, wolfing down seed. Whenever the female (I presume. Smaller and timid). gets anywhere near it, she is chased away. She is left to scavenge for seed in other parts of the garden nearby. No wonder he is so fat and she is so thin! (I have now started putting another pile of seed on the ground a little way from the first one, but it isn't in a feeder). However sometimes another male wood pigeon comes down and then the two males have a fight to see which gets to stay. Also interestingly, all the sparrows seem to come down for their first feed of the day around the same time as the pigeons. Weird. I don't put the seed out at a certain time each day, so it isn't that!

The thing is, like the terrible dangerous (for pedestrians) junction where the South Circular meets the continuation of Lordship Lane by the derelict pub, if someone was killed or seriously injured here, they would come up with a solution PDQ. Speaking of which, I thought it had been agreed to install pedestrian crossings at the South Circular junction. Does anybody have an update on that? I can't remember what the timescale was.

A zebra crossing would maybe work, but cars often just ignore the fact that a pedestrian is on the crossing. Also, on busy days, cars would never get over the crossing!

It's weird, because if memory serves they have being saying for years that it was not possible to have a crossing there. I can't remember their reasons.

The Daily Mail article which Siduhe linked to above seems to say that the vast majority of these parcels come from China, or are otherwise not actually "Missing Post." If Royal Mail (or other couriers) genuinely can't deliver mail because of illegible addresses and no return address given, or whatever, then I think it's fine for them to sell the contents. But it seems to be clear that just because items are sold online as "Missing Post", that does not mean that they are actually "Missing Post" (which by implication has been stolen by posties). Frankly, I think if people spend hundreds of pounds buying these parcels because they expect to find some incredibly expensive items inside, they deserve everything they get :))

To the best of my knowledge my mail is back to normal now, and there is nothing I should have received which I haven't had. However, Femke, are you saying that eBay auctions are actually labelled as "missing post"? Because if so, surely eBay should not be accepting them for sale?
