Also love, salmon terriyaki. Monkatsu do a yummy salmon terriyaki. However as that is the only place I've ever had it, I have nothing to compare it with ....

Some of us want to stand up and be counted and try to make a difference. And Jeremy Corbyn made a passionate, heartfelt and inspiring speech.
  4. Hopefully it recovered a bit and was able to fly away. I hope your son wasn't too upset.
  5. I had lots of really huge bees in my garden today. Three came into the kitchen. That was fun :)) Anybody else seen them?
  6. My contact lens person would not be happy if I did that! And she doesn't stand to make any money from my using the lenses more than once, as I buy them elsewhere! ETA: But I see one of the major advantages of single use lenses as being that you don't have to mess about with cleaning them and keeping them sterile. Otherwise you may as well just have gas permeable lenses in the first place!
  7. Blah Blah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yet more sanctimonious crap from Sue. She's been > getting into infantile rows with people for > thirteen years apparently. Well well. The fragrant Blah Blah returns, right on cue :)) Funnily enough I was just thinking about you this morning :)) You really can't resist giving yourself away, can you? I'm collecting screenshots :)) :)) :)) ETA: If anybody new to the forum doesn't realise, you can click on people's name and see their past posts (at least, back to when the forum was reorganised by admin a while ago). So you can click on my name and see how much sanctimonious crap I've posted. Depending on your definitions of sanctimonious and crap, of course. I'd reckon probably about 0.001% :))
  8. Do you rate that big shop at the Elephant, KK? I haven't been in there yet.

Lol... > Okay. > Eh? Where have I called this shop a "hideous eyesore"? ETA: oh yes, I did. I used the words "hideous" and "eyesore," In separate sentences in a totally unrelated thread in the lounge. But not as you have quoted me. ETA: And I specifically said that I was saying it on that thread where hardly anybody would be likely to see it. But hey ho. I stand by my view. I just didn't want it made so public as you have just done, for obvious reasons. Thanks for that. ETA: Let's just stop this now. I shall be more careful in future about posting my opinions on a local forum I've been using for nearly thirteen years.
  11. I did not see all the previous thread before it was deleted. My reasons on the other thread for not giving the shop my custom, if I said that which I can't remember, were because of posts by the owner early in the thread, which he subsequently deleted and which I have no intention of repeating here. I am not a troll and was not trying to wind anybody up. ETA: I have said above why I asked the question. It is one thing to effusively praise a new shop. It is another thing to write derogative comments about a shop next door to it selling similar products.
  12. My question to VelvetBlueberry was based on his/her negative comments about sweets sold by other local shops.
  13. Website now says launching 14 June.

  15. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Trafalgar Square is connected to Parliament Square > Via Whitehall and Parliament Street. > Downing street is Off of Whitehall and has no > public access. > > they would need to close Whitehall They would not need to close the whole of Whitehall, Dulwich Fox, and were not intending to. Not from what I understand, anyway. ETA: My understanding was that they were going to block off part of the middle so that demonstrators could not gather near the entrance to Downing Street, and also could not walk down Whitehall directly between Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square, but would have to go a longer way round.

I resisted single use lenses on cost grounds. I wish I had changed years ago. They are a revelation :) They aren't actually as expensive as I imagined when you take into account that they don't need any cleaning or other liquids, and they are a lot more convenient. Also whatever brand you use, you can get it a lot cheaper online (exactly the same prescription, obviously). However, now I am retired I do wear glasses more, especially as they have those lenses that go dark in the sun so you don't need to keep taking sunglasses on and off! I have my eyes checked yearly (for contact lens purposes) at the Institute of Optometry (between the Elephant and Borough).
  17. I understand part of Downing Street is being closed off by police, so it won't be possible to get directly to Parliament Square from Trafalgar Square, or vice versa? ETA: Sorry, obviously I meant Whitehall!

Spartacus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A classic example of trolling there Sue > > Congratulations on putting someone's business down > > > I applaud you for stopping this modern day blight > of new businesses opening up and stopping shops > being empty. Keep up the good work. 😂 What??? I said I didn't like the shop front but I expected they would do well. How is that trolling, exactly?
  21. Wimpole Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ^^ Interesting thread developing in the Heads > up....intresting thread in the main section > thread. :)) To be fair, VelvetBlueberry, you have only very recently registered on the forum, and your post in the ED gossip section is remarkably enthusiastic about the new sweetshop, plus for some reason being very critical of M&S's chocolates ......
  22. Plus ca change, etc etc ....
