  1. Thanks, I will investigate Bosh (and Quorn!) as well :)
  2. I travelled into town today during the rush hour (set off around 8.20) I was expecting a horrendous journey. It wasn't! I know the stop outside the Post Office tends to get crowded, so I went to the one before. Got on the bus easily enough but yes it was crowded and I had to stand. For one stop! People got off at North Cross Road and I got a seat upstairs. After that, many people got off at the two stations and then the hospital. Nobody who was going further than that who was already on the bus would have had to stand. I was expecting loads of traffic and queues, but it was an easy run apart from a slight delay to "even out the service" and a bit of a delay around the Strand and Trafalgar Square. I had left loads of time so had to go and sit in a little park for nearly half an hour before my appointment!
  3. So pleased to have this shop opening so near! Hopefully everything will run smoothly for you now.

Yes, I didn't really think the site could have crashed it! Well, not crashed exactly, but the cursor disappeared and the up and down keys didn't work either, so I was a bit stuck. Googled it on my phone but none of the supposed solutions worked. It was fine after I turned it off and on again :)) :)) :))
  6. Thanks all! Very useful, you are all stars! I'm particularly intrigued that MeatLiquor has a vegan option. Haven't been there for ages, but I'm sure they didn't have that when they opened, did they?

  8. Thanks, hopefully unrelated but as soon as I went on to that site my laptop completely froze up :))
  9. Can you not contact the supplier or manufacturer to get their advice on how to clean the floor? I'd have thought that would be your best way forward?

    Yet another scam

Yeh, I tend to ask them how much they are being paid to spout this crap, and tell them they should be ashamed of themselves :)) But I don't get many spam calls, maybe one a month on my mobile (that's tempting fate, isn't it .....) but then I have my landline on permanent voicemail, so they tend to hang up as soon as they get to the message ......
  12. Thanks Bruce!
  13. I am embarking on a plant-based diet (for health reasons, not to lose weight) (following the "How Not To Die" book and cookbook) https://nutritionfacts.org/cookbook/ This is quite a big leap for me. I rarely eat meat but do (as of now, did) eat quite a lot of fish. I'm determined to give it at least three weeks to see if it makes a difference. Just wondering if anybody has any fairly simple but tasty recipes which don't take too long to prep and cook? I'm finding it a bit overwhelming in terms of all the new ingredients and recipes, particularly as on bad days I am too tired to do much. I'm OK for breakfasts, it's the other meals I'm struggling with. Beans and veg heated up in a saucepan with a few herbs and spices are going to get a bit boring after a while, I suspect ......

    Olive oil

After all that, I have discovered this morning that olive oil is apparently really bad for you! https://nutritionfacts.org/2017/10/17/what-about-extra-virgin-olive-oil/ :(
  15. I believe some animal rescue places take duvets and pillows?
  16. I thought Sainsbury's were supposed to have gone plastic free for their loose fruit and veg??

  19. What a great view you have, PeckhamRose!
  20. Bloody hell. Glad I didn't know about this when I recently went to The Rookery at the top of Streatham Common. Hope you are OK now, Cella.
  21. Great to hear you had a good day!

That is just not true. I use buses a lot during the day, and they are not "packed out" except during the rush hours. Sometimes they may appear to be because for some reason people prefer to stand downstairs, often blocking the doors, rather than go upstairs where there are plenty of seats available. Obviously some people aren't able to climb stairs or have buggies with them, but I can't believe that applies to everybody.

The problem with their great sounding offers is that there are exclusions, eg for some gardens they only apply out of season. That may not be the case for the 2019 offer, but I'm pretty sure it was the case for Kew in the past. But I think the issue with the offer was earlier in the year.
