Always a mistake :)) Someone always spots it :))

Had a couple of poor reviews on here and instead of responding banned all future mention of it on here, positive or negative. As I thought had Le Chandelier ?

The places selling decent food were meant for people who appreciate it and are willing to pay a bit more for it. If you don't and you aren't, fine. All the easier for the rest of us to get a table without having to wait :)

Why don't you go and live somewhere else? Somewhere where there are just crap cheap horrible caffs which nobody would want to eat in unless they were desperate or very hung over? You are in a time warp. Streatham in the sixties with the Golden Egg :))

If you're in misery you can just not read it :)) And buying it would not be the same! I've grown the blackcurrants!!
  7. Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Who in their right mind would spend ?7 > on eggs on toast when you can make it at home, or > go to a greasy spoon charging ?2 for the same > thing? Well I would, so are you saying I'm not in my right mind? I go out quite often for brunch on a Saturday, and I would willingly pay ?7 (except I don't believe it is ?7, see above) for properly cooked free range scrambled eggs on nice toast - with chilli jam - in a pleasant place which isn't my kitchen and where I don't have to cook the toast and get the eggs exactly right. And I honestly can't believe what you'd get in a greasy spoon would come anywhere near what you're likely to get in Rosie's, although I have only had their delicious cake (yes I know, I should have made that at home as well) and coffee.

Their salads looked delicious.

This government really has it in for disabled people, doesn't it. Disgraceful.

Only I've been searching without success for 100% cotton (not polyester mix) red gingham - can't remember the check size but it's midway between the very small and the quite large :) Nobody seems to have it by the metre/yard any more :( What is the name of the shop, do you remember, or alternatively where abouts is it?!

  13. I was idly glancing through someone else's flyer and at the bottom of the page was this: *This layout is terrible - it uses all the wrong fonts - can we get the correct ones for the next leaflet? Ed. :)) :)) :)) Hope they didn't pay too much to get it printed :))

Thanks maxxi! Coffee filters might be, but I don't have any so I may as well get the muslin!
  15. Why don't you give Don a ring, tell him the symptoms and see what he says? ETA: I can assure you he won't try to pull any wool over your eyes or patronise you.
  16. Louisa Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >If I don't > get any joy, I'll get her towed back up here and > contact those guys to see if they can help. Rather than pay for a tow, Don would probably be able to come to the car and sort it there, depending on what is wrong, obviously.
  17. Hanging baskets are a great idea, but they're very high maintenance. They'd need watering at least once a day in the summer probably.

Anyone know where I can get muslin in ED?!

You could just sit at home all day, cook every meal for yourself, and drink a pint or two in the evening much cheaper than going out for it. If you used paper plates and cups, you wouldn't even have to wash up :))

So do I need to sterilise the sieve etc as well? Also, one recipe suggests straining it through an old tee shirt, trouble is I gave all mine away during a clutter clear :)) but surely that wouldn't be very sterile??

I've done that in the past with sloe gin, but I've got about three litres of vodka in it (it was very embarrassing getting it in the Co-Op, I got some very funny looks when I asked for three litres of the cheapest vodka :)) ) Anyway, it's supposed to be for presents, hollow laugh :))
