IE seems to be OK, but I don't like IE and I like Firefox! But it's very annoying. I can't understand why there doesn't seem to be anything about it online :(

That's all very helpful, thanks DMC

Ah, good idea, will try - usually use Firefox so will try IE, don't have Chrome on my laptop

I don't think they got the data from observing people in pubs, I think they asked people how much they drank, because another issue was people probably reporting they drank less than they did. But not getting ethnicity and religion data was bloody stupid - they said they didn't think it was relevant, duh.

I tried googling and couldn't find anything about it, but if it's happening to other people as well surely it must have been the Windows update? It seems to be just when I'm typing stuff in, like I'm doing now, not when it's actually posted and displayed. I

Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I ignore low ink messages anyway. Changing when > you are told would waste about 50% of a cartridge. I think doing that might have been one of the things which messed up my prevfous printer. I let cartridges run right to the end regardless of "ink out" messages :(

the-e-dealer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > you don't need the printer to tell you when ink is > low it will be obvious when you print. Yes of course you're right - and I try to make sure I've always got at least one spare cartridge of each colour - but by the time it's obvious when you print, if you don't have a spare cartridge, you're stuffed .....

Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yep - that change should stop that as well, Sue. Oh, OK!! Thanks! Only thing is though, it will disable the ink level message as well, which is quite useful ..... But the good news (to me and touch wood) is that after giving it my undivided attention for half an hour and by a process of trial and error, I got my broadband working !!

Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Not enough research, Sue! Google is again your > friend... > > http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_7298852_disable-ink-dete > ct-epson.html You misunderstand :)) It's not when I replace cartridges. It's EVERY BLOODY TIME I PRINT ANYTHING :)) :)) :)) See screenshot attached ...... see the bright yellow strip on the right ..... And I would not have thought, before buying the printer, to have googled this kind of thing - it wasn't mentioned in any reviews :( And NOW, possibly coincidentally and possibly not, following a Windows update, whenever I type anything eg into this forum box, or an email, all the "print" displayed is getting FAINTER AND FAINTER until I can scarcely see it .... Another googling session looms. Meantime my kitchen currently has no floor and no ceiling and much of my house is full of dust which came up through the floorboards :)) Oh happy days :)) ETA: And yes, StraferJack, it's very sad isn't it ..... and after my Canon printer died, I bought another one off here very cheaply as an intended stopgap "in full working order" (I'm not in the least suggesting that description wasn't in good faith) and IT WOULDN'T PRINT :)) :)) :)) I think because it had been kicking around unused for ages ..... At which point I gritted my teeth, gave up on the Canon (having tried everything), and bought this one ....

Attention car drivers in SE22 - Red means, er, stop.
Sue replied to Hawaii86's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
interesting thread, because I have recently noticed far more cars - and, yes, buses - not only jumping lights just after they have turned red, but blatantly driving through lights which have been red for some time. Considering the cash raked in from fines relating to cameras elsewhere, you'd have thought "they" would be eager to rake in some more by putting some sort of cameras on traffic lights, particularly where there are pedestrian crossings? -

Did a lot of research before I bought this one :)) ETA: Clearly the research did not extend so far as to find out whether every time I printed something out there would be "Buy Epson Ink" highlighted in yellow :)) Not sure it would have been enough to stop me buying the printer, however ..... very pleased with it otherwise and yes, I'm using compatible cartridges ("The printer has detected that you are not using Epson ink, blah blah". F*** off printer!!!)

I've just bought an expensive (to me) Epson printer. At every f-ing opportunity it tells me to buy genuine Epson ink. Epson - a) Bloody reduce your ink prices then. Massively. b) The more you tell me to do this, the less likely I am to do it. GRRRRRRR

Surely if he sees uniformed police around the area he'll just go somewhere else? Or have I missed something here? Hope he's caught soon, anyway. -
