Just looked up trains for tomorrow, and they are running, but only every half hour (18 and 48 past the hour). I thought they were more frequent than that on Saturdays - have I imagined it?

This probably isn't an issue for you in a conservatory, but I was considering Karndean or similar as an alternative to a white painted wooden floor in my kitchen, as the floorboards would have to be laid over concrete, so I got samples. I found that my red hair dye permanently stains them (I colour my hair in the kitchen to avoid staining the bath!). And probably other things would as well. If I drop dye on white paint I can paint over it. As I say, probably not an issue for you but maybe worth bearing in mind.

I'd be quite worried if the rcd kept tripping. Maybe you need to consult an electrician? Alternatively, if you google it there seem to be quite a few online discussions on it.

Stallholders are hardly there to provide a social service. I said the wind was so bad on Saturday that it would have been unsafe to put up stalls. I'm not quite sure what Jacqui5254 means ..... is everybody living in ED under some obligation to buy from the stalls in North Cross Road, even if the weather is terrible and even if they are skint after Christmas? The music was fantastic, as was the audience, but we had fewer people down than we would normally have expected. The weather was absolutely foul. We had put a lot of effort into the night, as did the headlining duo, one of whom had travelled up from Plymouth (took him seven hours due to a motorway accident) and the other had travelled down from Newcastle. But we didn't blame people at all for not coming out. Why should they? Not sure I would have done if I hadn't had to :)) You take the rough with the smooth, and so it is with market stallholders, surely?

Potentially very dangerous in the wind, as KK said. Quite apart from the goods blowing away or the stall blowing over, if the stall covering blew off, or blew away whilst it was being secured, it could for example blow onto a car and cause an accident.

And I bet it's very heavily moderated so that trolls and unpleasant people are kicked off it at the first sign of not being good-humoured and well-mannered? This forum, because of its nature, is bound to have members with a wide cross-section of views and personalities, and therefore disputes are bound to arise. I think it generally has a good balance - really vile people are banned, but otherwise posters are able to state their opinions freely on the whole. I think that's a healthy thing. It would be worrying if they couldn't.

Leaflet came through my letterbox today for a restaurant in Bellevue Road, Wandsworth Common. There is a picture on it entitled "Fillet of beef cooked live at your table in a fire-heated clay pot." They must have either very small cows or very large clay pots :)) Or else they slice the fillet off bit by bit whilst the cow moos loudly and bleeds all over the floor .....

I think it was not in a good location, and also it didn't really work having music there because of the layout of the bar. People listening to music or whatever were crammed either at one end of the pub or the other, with the bar in between. If there had been a larger separate room than the little snug bar, that could have worked maybe. It also meant it wasn't possible to have ticketed gigs there without closing the whole pub to everybody else, which wouldn't have been a viable option. The Ivy House is also off the beaten track, but is able to have gigs or other events there whilst people not going to them can still eat and drink in the other rooms. I think another problem with Hooper's Bar was that although there were a few attempts at having food there, the food was never very good.
