  1. Is this book available in Cheners Books or Rye Books? Can't find it on Amazon. I'd like to give it to my daughter for her birthday this week (she has an allotment in Oxford).

  5. Lovely illustrations :)

  7. OK just trying another laptop. Getting much the same problems, very slow and keeps logging me off at random. Will await the AOL response, but I'm now pretty sure the problem is not within my laptop. Thanks all :)
  8. Thanks Fox, I will try with another laptop first, as presumably if the problem is with my registry I won't have difficulties with my email from another laptop. I've also submitted a report to AOL. They seem to be making a lot of changes to their site at the moment, so I suspect it's something to do with that. xx

  10. So has anybody bloody won yet then, or what?
  11. Yeh trying the other laptop thing tomorrow. Don't have another one here at the moment. However I've just downloaded a load of large music files from about six emails which someone had emailed to me, and deleted the emails with the attachments, and it seems to have improved things so fingers crossed :) Would have thought a registry issue would have caused other probs than just with my emails, but what would I know :))
  12. OK Fox, sorry to be snappy when you're trying to help, here's some of the error messages I've been getting. Maybe you could decipher them for me. I've cleared the cache, cleared all AOL cookies, and deleted loads of emails as I had over a thousand in my inbox. I suspect this is all something to do with a new email system which AOL is apparently introducing. These are all intermittent errors - so far as I been able to get into all my AOL email addresses eventually. However I have printed out all my contacts (took bloody ages) in case it all goes completely (6) After email sent: Not Found The requested URL 3&sid:ad73143a-2371-43a8-b791-139756636f84&rt:STANDARD&ckd:.mail.aol.com&ckp:/&ha:uUFzfY2MGcrhpQoDjNwJBzXhoH8=&; was not found on this server. 15. AOL Mail 30 April via Twitter We are sorry if your mail isn?t loading or if it's a bit slow right now. We're aware of this issue and should have it fixed soon. ETA: If AOL "does not support Opera", how come I can pick up my AOL email via Opera?

  18. I've ascertained that it's nothing to do with Firefox, as I've got the same problem going via Opera. No problems with any other websites.
  19. Thanks Fox, I'll see how it is tomorrow and also try from somebody else's laptop. If the problem persists I'll do what that last article suggests :) xx

Hope everybody's voted? Darrell Road community centre was very very quiet when I went this morning :-S When can we expect the results?
  21. Sorry Fox, I don't get your point. Why are you quoting something which says that people aren't researching relative costs, when I've already said that AOL is free? And are you saying that no other email provider ever has service problems? As I also said, I usually have no trouble with AOL at all. Obviously if this happened often then I would switch, but it doesn't. I only posted because I was trying to ascertain whether it was a general problem with AOL this morning or something wrong with my laptop (since I've also got a very recent problem when using Windows Explorer, where I get runtime error messages when trying to transfer files to a memory stick). AOL seems much better this afternoon, though still a bit unstable, so I suspect it's a more general problem which hopefully will soon be resolved.

Do people > still use AOL ? > > If so WHY ??? > > Fox ;-) xxxxxx Because I've had the email addresses for a long time and it would be a pain to change them, it's free to use and I'm used to the interface. I don't use it as my ISP or my browser. Any other questions? ETA: I usually have no trouble with it at all :) ETA: And I think hotmail and gmail addresses are naff, sorry - I have them but never use them :)) Each to their own :))
  23. And now, instead of opening an email, it has given me this message: Expected a ',' or '}' WTF?!?!?!?!?

The greengrocer's apostrophe is the giveaway .... Or maybe, just knowing what that is ...... :))
