  1. red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Snow Poppy... xxxxxx You are a genius. That's it. Thanks! Never even heard of it before. I knew it wasn't a Japanese anemone - wrong flower, wrong leaves, wrong season :) Razors, haven't you got anything better to do?
  2. It's in my garden, just started flowering. Situated in partial shade, seems to be a runner as it's started spreading everywhere (I don't mind as I like it!). I got it from a stall at a fete in Dorset a couple of years back. It was wrongly labelled and I've never been able to identify it. This is the first year it's flowered, possibly because I took it out of its pot in shade and planted it in the garden where it gets a bit of sun. It's got quite distinctive leaves which are almost heart-shaped, and I can't understand why I can't find out what it is as I'm sure it must be quite common :-$ ETA: Sorry for the out-of-focus pic of the flower - you can see it better in the second pic, which also shows the leaf better (I'm obviously not referring to the ivy .....)

    Hydrangeas

Garden centres, especially small ones, tend to have stuff on sale only when it's flowering. My climbing hydrangea is in bud (Hydrangea petiolaris) but I guess you mean the common pink and blue ones?
  4. It's possible the document is "read only" - in which case, can you "save as" (rather than "save") and then type in your answers in the new document? You can normally "save as" by going into the file menu. Alternatively, print out the document, hand-write in your answers, then scan it and save/send it as a pdf.
  5. I have been there twice in the last few months, and each time I was seen more or less straight away. If I hadn't had a book with me, sod's law says I would have had a hundred people in front of me :))

Luckily it only seems to affect my clock radio, but it's a pain having to reset it as it's so old it only goes forwards :)) Ulverscroft Road.
  7. Yeah, I don't know how I manage to get through life sometimes, amazing isn't it :))
  8. I have never set Opera to be my default browser. I use Firefox. Nothing usually opens in Opera. I don't know what was causing the refreshing problem, but it sorted itself somehow. I just panicked too soon :))
  9. No idea, Jeremy. I certainly must have done something. The Coffee Cup people have told me how to change the file associations, but as the pages are refreshing OK now there isn't any immediate hurry. But thanks! ETA: I suppose it would be too much to hope for that if I uninstalled Opera it would automatically change the file associations???
  10. PeckhamRose Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I agree about the pheromone sticky traps. It's fun > to see the little buggers stuck on them. xxxxx But it's really cruel.
  11. I was updating the Goose website tonight but when I checked the site, none of the pages would refresh. On investigating, I found that all my html files have turned into Opera web documents - which I've never heard of before. I think what happened is that some message came up asking me to allow Opera, and I assumed it was something to do with the Opera browser, which I sometimes use. Can anybody help? How can I turn them back into html again? I use Coffee Cup html editor. ETA: The pages seem to be refreshing now, but I'm still totally bemused. ETA: I've had an answer from the Coffee Cup helpline which sort of helps, but I still don't understand what has happened ......

The hanging not the workshop, obviously.

  15. Many years ago, somebody broke into my ancient car and stole - the first aid box :))
  16. After I had a total blitz last year, using various methods, touch wood I have only had one moth. However I am not complacent, as they seem to come out in warm weather. The one moth I had flew out of a cardboard shoe box when I opened it - it had never occurred to me moths would like shoes. I don't go into my shoe boxes very often as they contain my shoes with heels :)) I found the Rentokil moth killer strips and hanging units sorted my problems with clothes (and also fabrics, as I have piles of fabrics waiting to be turned into things). Though when I had the infestation previously I had to spray things like cushions and wall hangings with something which also killed eggs and larvae to sort the problem. I found a cheap source of the strips and hanging units on Amazon - I'll try to post a link to it, no time to track it down at the moment.
  17. Maybe you should sell the idea to Damien Hirst :)) When he moves on from butterflies :))
  18. Of course she won't "stay to enjoy the rest of the forum", she has registered and posted on here in order to promote her products. There is already lots of good advice re getting rid of moths on the forum, which is on the thread I gave a link to above. "Natural" products don't work (moths just ignore them). I have spent a fortune on "natural" products in the past before realising this. Cleanliness certainly has a part to play. Traps may give you an indication of the scale of the problem, but do not eradicate it. Chemicals are the only thing which work in the long term, sad as this may be. ETA: It is not the fact she has posted on here which I object to, it is the fact that she has not come clean about her connection with the website selling the products which she has linked to. I don't like people who are economical with the truth.

  23. Your post on this thread appears to be your very first post on this forum. Would it be very suspicious of me to think that you may perhaps have something to do with the sites you link to, since they both seem to go to the same website? Both selling anti-moth products? And the wording on the site is very similar to the wording in your post ..... Do you actually live in East Dulwich? Or have you googled for moths and found this thread in order to flog your stuff? You wouldn't be the first one ...... Edited because the rest of my post was a bit pointless given the above :))

ETA: Of course you're not violating any forum rules (as far as I know) and don't let people put you off continuing to be helpful.
