It suddenly flew into my face when I was reading in bed last night :( After a brief scream (sorry neighbours) I did the glass and cardboard thing (always ready in case of bees and wasps, lol) and took it out of the house and went back to bed. Had just settled down again when a much smaller but very pretty greenish-blue moth started fluttering around the light. Did the glass and cardboard thing again, went back to bed. Blow me if ANOTHER very pretty blah blah moth then did the same thing (deffo not the original one, it couldn't have got back so quickly). After the glass and cardboard yet again, I gave up and went to sleep :)

Political affiliations aside, Ken has a > *really* annoying nasal whine. Xxxxx But he likes newts, so that balances it out I think. Though I agree his voice is very annoying.

DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Put Simply I like living in the side/back streets > were it is Quiet xxxxxx Bloody hell, Fox, you find it quiet in this road? Do you wear earplugs 24/7 or something? :) Or are you just immune to the dulcet tones of kids squealing and screeching in their CPR gardens at the crack of dawn? NB That was not a neurotic rant. -

Unfortunately it's part of human nature. Some/many people slow down to gawp at accidents on the motorway, if there's anything to see. -

jane1 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > it looked like a pretty bad accident, the person > on the bike was in a bad way, i hope they are all > right. does any one know, if they are all > right............ xxxxx On another thread here somebody has posted that two people died and two were seriously injured in an accident on Lordship Lane today, unfortunately. I don't know whether that is referring to the same accident, or whether that information is accurate. Very sad news if so. ETA: Sorry, post crossed with the one above. -
Yes, I think you're right Maxxi. I love the description "insectile mist", though probably I wouldn't if I was walking through it :) I always thought bamboo wasn't terribly wildlife friendly (apart from for pandas) but sparrows seem to perch on it and eat something off it - aphids? Never actually seen any insects on it, but as it's now as tall as the house maybe all the insects congregate up the top ......

There is a thread in the main section about this. There was an accident I think.

I hope word got round (so that they didn't come and eat manky food) and that is why they aren't there.

If you put "moths" into the forum search box, a load of previous threads about moths and various ways of dealing with them will come up. Sadly it's a very common problem round here (and elsewhere). If you look closely at your carpet where it's been eaten you may see the larvae (don't do this if you are squeamish :) )

wildthing Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks for this - I'll have a look. Hi Sue - > three and a half stone !!! xxxxxx I wish you the best of luck! I had a blitz on my weight in the new year, but sadly found when I lost the weight my face just looked more wrinkly :( Another hideous downside of getting old. Hope you find some people to do it with you. Keep us in touch with how it's going!

Hey that's odd, I had one of those in my office last night, I had to turn the light off as it started flapping around inside the shade. I don't know where it's gone now, I sincerely hope it's found its way out of the house. Never seen one before. It must be in its "short emergence period in July" :) Has anybody else noticed that the spider/flying ant season seems to be starting? Isn't it a bit early? :(

Surely if you get references and follow them up you should be OK? Or have I missed something?

Though I do note you said "usually" :)

I had a few days in Aberdeen. Went there from Dundee on the coach. Good fish market. Well we were students, so it seemed quite luxurious really. LOL.
