Does that cat not belong to The Actress? It was in and out of the Actress yesterday lunchtime.

All blackbirds sing early in the morning as far as I know. If a tree hasn't got a leaf on it by this time of year, I'd say it was very very dead :))

Well I filled in the survey but I thought it was crap. Can't believe whoever devised it had actually tried to answer the questions. And I can't see it's going to have much effect on our police station because they didn't ask for a postcode, just a borough. I hope I'm wrong.

Hey it's a kind of Cornflower, and I have some Cornflowers I sowed which are about to flower (very dark ones, not the bright blue ones) so if the seedheads bring goldfinches into my garden I shall be celebrating :)

What do you mean by baits? The RSPCA would probably be interested in that .....

As one who once touched an electric fence by mistake, I wouldn't wish it on anybody, even a cat who has been crapping on my garden (and eyeing up my tadpoles). My answer will be very spiky plants like pyracantha at the points where they are getting in :))

The blackbirds in my neck of the woods (North Cross Road area) sing to each other - every morning and every evening.

I often have blackbirds in my garden - although it's very tiny, it has a load of hiding/perching places at the back amongst ivy, honeysuckle etc where they can retreat to if they get worried. I also have robins, blue tits, great tits, sparrows etc but sadly nothing more unusual - yet! The starlings seem to have disappeared this year, possibly spooked as a result of one of their number being carried off by a sparrowhawk (?) a while back, accompanied by a great deal of noise (from the starling not the sparrowhawk :)) )

Maybe the one you put up wasn't suitable for a wren?

Attached (I hope) is a pic of a wren :) I had one in my garden in ED, so they are around. They are very small, and have thinner beaks than, say, a sparrow.

Hi James, I didn't contact the police, they contacted me via a flyer about Neighbourhood Watch through the door (Ulverscroft Road). They asked for my response to be returned either to ED police station (I think it was) or emailed to them. I emailed saying I would like to be involved in Neighbourhood Watch, but haven't heard anything about it since. :-S Can't remember if my email was acknowledged tbh, it was ages ago.

I had some info a while ago now about neighbourhood watch in ED, volunteered to be involved and have heard nothing since??
