  3. The RHS has produced this useful list of plants which attract pollinating insects at different times of the year: Plants for pollinators Also - tadpole update - since growing their legs, or in the process of doing so, a load of mine have reappeared, and can be admired at certain times of the day taking in air. They are also greedy little b*****s and eat whole freeze-dried bloodworms at a time :)) Hopefully they won't choke to death before becoming proper froglets. Have not seen the actual froglet (or possibly toadlet) lately and hope this is because s/he is hiding somewhere in the garden and not because s/he has been eaten by a cat or bird :-S
  4. Sorry but I should think your purse has almost certainly been stolen by somebody going into your rucksack.

  6. So are you going to do something about it?
  7. grass Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Somebody is poisoning they fox in your local area. xxxxxx And is your (new) forum name a giveaway? You know who this somebody is? @ Dulwich Fox - that's true, but then where are all the bodies?
  8. Ratpack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > That was what was so strange. Lots of foxes - they > all disappeared at the same time and no bodies in > our gardens. xxxxxxx Maybe they've just gone somewhere else? I once had a fox sleeping in my garden every day, then one day it just went away and never came back. It never occurred to me it might have died, I just assumed it found somewhere else to sleep!
  9. Penguin68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Franklyn's? xxxxxx :))
  10. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You could afford a Pound of biscuits. > > We had to do with a 1/4 pound.. :( Well actually I can't remember what weight they were sold by, but a quarter of a pound didn't seem like many biscuits :)) Got a load more at school for the same price if you got broken ones at break time (hoho) though :)
  11. Ratpack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > We had loads of foxes in our garden and they all > disappeared at the same time. I think someone is > poisoning them or catching them. xxxxxxx What's happening to all the bodies, then? :-S
  12. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Just a Long past Memory:- xxxxxxxx Yeh, like the days when you got several deliveries of post a day, and might even get the first one before you left for work in the morning ..... The olden days ..... like when you could buy broken biscuits by the pound :))
  13. maxxi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Dammit... now the Thread People are on to us! > > *trailer for upcoming summer blockbuster "Return > of the Thread People"* xxxxxxx :)) Beats the Killer Rabbits or the Wasp Woman :))
  14. prdarling Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Oh. Thanks. How rubbish xxxxxx Stamps are expensive enough as it is, without paying more for them to cover the costs of employing Royal Mail staff on Sundays to collect a few letters from people who didn't get it together to post on Saturday :)) Apologies for the very long sentence :))
  15. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- "What we are looking for is what is looking" xxxxxx Very profound/true signature, Alan M :) Never noticed it on your posts before. Though I would have put an "apparently" before the first "looking". Sorry, as you were thread people :))
  16. steveo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Were you using a Brownie 127 FatherJack? :)) If he was, the tiny pix would have been in black and white - I think :))
  17. karter Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What Fuschia has described is not daft, parking > enforcement officers do not play fairly. James has > targets to hit and is rude. xxxxx Erm, James was saying that the behaviour of the parking attendants was daft, not Fuchsia. Why are you saying he is rude? It is clear that he is trying to help!
  18. Thanks, I'll have a look :)
  19. Good for you, Maria. Can you give us some idea of what would be in the bags, eg at this time of year?
  20. You can also get a 35 to London Bridge from Camberwell Green.
  21. I didn't send Daisy any instructions! I just suggested she PM her mobile number rather than posting it on here :)

Grotty Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hmm, i'm a gardening novice after a bit of advice > - we have a victoria plum tree, planted 18 months > ago - last year didn't do much, this year has > burst with branches and leaves but no sign of > fruit - if it is going to fruit does anyone know > when we should expect to see the first signs of > some or is it too late? Thanks xxxxxxx Sounds like a very young tree so it is probably establishing itself before producing flowers and fruit.
  23. Senor Chevalier Wrote: What I do have in abundance right now though > is snails. I round them up occasionally but can't > quite bring myself to eat them. A delicious treat > for someone a bit less squeamish than me...? xxxxxxx I think you'll find the snails in your garden are not the same variety of escargots you would be served in a restaurant :)
  24. Taking it to Barclays Bank in Lordship Lane might also avoid the person having to cancel it :) But probably by the time they've seen your post on here they'll have already cancelled it :-S
  25. Very interesting but will be moved to the lounge in a flip of a fish's tail :) PS If you're ever in Oxford, visit The Goldfish Bowl, brilliant shop, Magdalen Road is between Cowley Road and Iffley Road.
