  1. I agree with the OP. I've never seen the programme and have no wish to - not because of animal cruelty but because I can't bear this sleb culture. But it seems to me that there's a huge difference between for example eating insects because otherwise you'd starve and eating them for the entertainment of others, which is just vile. And the taunting of the dogs described above is also vile. Surely the RSPCA should be doing something about all this? What are we coming to as a society? Yes I had to poison clothes moths in the Summer, and I've had to poison rats in the past, but I would rather not have had to do it. I never kill spiders, "normal" moths etc - I catch them and put them outside, or leave them to find their own way out if possible.

  3. People eat out and get takeaways a lot more than they used to. I do myself, though I cook as well (badly). It's a general pattern, not just related to ED. Eating out or getting a takeaway used to be more of a special occasion, now it often isn't.
  4. Yeh but remember the last line of the chorus PGC :))
  5. Hey, that was a bit mean, I was just beginning to feel a little better till I saw that :))
  6. So did the Clock House, but sadly they then finished their last bottle of ginger wine :)) Unfortunately the Gowlett is not very near me. Anyway, I don't think I want to see another whisky mac for a very long time :)):-$

No more having to traipse over to Rye > Lane or get a bus to Camberwell... xxxxxxx Yeh, let's just bring in all the high street chains, then we can live somewhere that looks just like everywhere else in the country :-S Peckham and Camberwell are both within easy walking distance of Lordship Lane, FFS :)) And there's also a Boots in Forest Hill, should you happen to live at the other end of East Dulwich. In fact we're surrounded by Boots branches :))
  8. After a lovely riverside walk yesterday afternoon followed by a delicious Sunday roast at the Rye accompanied by two glasses of mulled wine, a strange urge to visit the Clock House for a whisky mac "because it's so cold" came upon us. Sadly they only had enough ginger wine for one each, so we bought a bottle of scotch and a bottle of ginger wine from a shop in Barry Road. Unfortunately we had to pass the CPT on our way home, and thought we'd continue our whisky mac availability in East Dulwich "market research" (how easy it is to fool oneself). On finding they had no ginger wine at all, I was "forced" to have a drambuie, followed by a pint of Stella because by then we were in the middle of a game of draughts. Even more unfortunately, on getting home we opened said bottles and then started searching for Captain Beefheart clips on YouTube. Not sure which was the greatest mistake :)) Had to postpone two appointments today and got up around 3pm :-$
  9. Bloody hell, can't this thread be moved somewhere else? :-S

And birds fluff up their feathers when it's cold, not before it's cold, I think?

  24. If I lost my wallet I'd probably ask at the police station (without much hope of getting it back) so whilst it's great you handed it in, you might want to let the police know? If Damien doesn't use the Leisure Centre, or hasn't been in there today, he probably wouldn't think of asking in there.
