  1. Sadly, I've written to the manager, because .... Shelves of chicken pieces but no free-range pieces, and I won't buy chicken that isn't free-range. No organic fruit and veg any more, that I could see. Shelf after bare shelf - no stir-fry bags or salad (around 6pm on a Friday), hardly any alcohol in the chiller (ditto). Carton of cottage cheese on display past its sell-by date. Astronomical price rise in own brand tissues (which have now disappeared from the shelves altogether :-S ) I was really looking forward to the Co-op opening, and from the point of view of stuff that I buy, on the whole it's got worse. Not because it's a Co-op per se, but because of what appears to be poor management, poor stock control, insufficient shelf filling staff, and/or a lack of research on what local shoppers (ie me :)) ) might want to buy. I did however buy a load of what appeared to be perfectly good plums reduced to 25p a pack last week so swings and roundabouts I guess :))
  2. I'm sure most people who rent out their house don't deliberately rent it to people who blight the lives of those around them :))
  3. The Lambeth tip at Rosendale Road is for recycled goods only. Sorry, edited to say I mean, stuff which can be recycled. They won't take anything else.

And look what happened in St Francis park next to Sainsbury's when gates were left unlocked. Personally I feel it is a good thing to have parks locked at night, even if a few people might want to climb over the railings.
  5. Probably because it's April.
  6. Perhaps the people who open the parks do not want to have to start work at dawn? I wouldn't :))

It definitely tastes different, and not so nice. I thought they'd somehow made it runnier in order to be able to be squeezed out, and that that had affected the flavour?
  8. Is this the time of year when foxes mate? If so, I guess that is probably what it was.
  9. I agree with you H, and I'd be bloody furious if it happened to me.
  10. You can get Marmite rice cakes! They're brilliant! And Tesco do some which taste much the same but are cheaper :)) :)-D
  11. Yeh good luck, I liked the Wishing Well as it was but hopefully it will soon be even better :)
  12. Glad it ended happily, Fergie. Must have been a nightmare for you.

Surely you're not out of it at this time of night, Woof, that's very surreal :))
  14. Why the sticking out tongue, wingless bird with x s? ETA: Or have I misinterpreted your symbols?
  15. It's good you posted at all, hopefully their owner reads the forum :)
  16. Did anyone else hear some hideous animal/bird screaming in the Crystal Palace Road area last night? It went on for ages. Sod's law on a night I had to get up at 6am :-S I wasn't sure if it was something/things being killed, or animals mating. Blimey, I thought when I moved back to London I had got away from lying in bed listening to the sounds of small creatures being massacred or carried away by owls in the night :))

    What a crap thread.

The Rosendale Road tip has all changed since I last used it. It only takes recyclable stuff, for a start.

Is there some length of time a house has to remain empty before it can be legally squatted? My house has sometimes been empty for a few months in the past, and the prospect of squatters never occurred to me :-$ Maybe they would reject it as far too small :))
  20. I always thought I was being over-cautious by shredding too much stuff - I feel better now about my paranoia!

  22. We already met up with Darrell, so I was disappointed to hear that not enough local venues are interested. If anything does eventually come of this, either via him or via any others who have posted on this thread, the Goose would be interested in being involved in providing music. www.thegooseisout.com We have a growing list of excellent local musicians, and one idea which was discussed was to have some of them playing appropriate background music at some of the festival venues.
