  1. Was the car driver prosecuted?
  2. Be Bop a Lula - Gene Vincent

  4. The Great Valerio - Richard Thompson
  5. Having read the stats about the percentages of children who survive being hit by a car travelling at 20mph (9 out of 10) compared to 40mph (only 1 in 10), I'm voting for the 20mph limit. I already have it in my road. I think people drive much too fast down side roads round here, and I'm amazed there are not more accidents.

  7. Well if he did have a covered up face, what more description do you want? Apart from height, clothes.
  8. All You Need Is Love - Beatles
  9. James Barber has been very helpful in various issues I've been involved in. I also wonder why, with an election coming up, the OP feels it necessary to say what political party JB belongs to (which by the way I don't vote for).
  10. Andystar Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sorry, I was out late walking my giant pet Bee :)) xxxxxxx I want one - where did you get it?! :))
  11. John Barleycorn - Knights of the Occasional Table :)-D

I read that as "Mouse Irradiation Day" - mass mouse X-ray maybe :)
  13. Cum On Feel the Noize - Martin Carthy (f-ing brilliant version btw!)
  14. I'm sure you're right, but depends how many pennies you have. Sometimes they have to be spent on, er, things like food :)
  15. Can't do that! Rain / Reign Can you? Opens up a whole new range of possibilities ....
  16. What, Dulwich Park? I like the Rye myself :)
  17. I too think it's a shame to change the name. Why "The Villager", Scott? ED isn't actually a village, though I remember laughing when it was on the cusp (good word!) of change and an estate agent called it "East Dulwich Village". Also, Villager sounds a bit like Cottager, or maybe that's just me :)) Edited to add: Also, it's near Upland Road

Green Goose Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > One councillor in particular (who shall be > nameless) thinks that the council's funds should > instead be spent on such projects as installing > art work on the wall of the sub station in North > Cross Road. > >xxxxxxxxxx That is a really unfair comment. Nobody has suggested using money which would be used to repair potholes to install artwork. I don't much like the suggested art project, but get your facts right.
  19. I also think the problem has recently got a lot worse in ED. There is constantly poo in Ulverscroft Road, and people even let their dogs go (and then leave it there) in the middle of the pavement in Lordship Lane. As well as being extremely unpleasant if you tread in it, it is a dangerous health hazard to children, who can go blind I believe due to something which may be in it, whose name I can't remember. I'd be surprised if much of it is due to foxes, though obviously some must be. Thanks for raising the subject, I will also contact the council about it, has anyone raised it on J Barber's thread, I haven't looked at that lately?
  20. Let us know what happens Will Dex Edited to add: Let's hope it is just a drunk or something similarly harmless
  21. My daughter has made it quite clear she does not intend to look after me when I'm old :)) ETA: Older ....
  22. Hey good luck Dan and Lou, sounds good :)-D Glad you're keeping Hankdog :))

Apologies again - as you were :)
  24. Yeh I read this as "polish property", thought maybe it was a cleaner touting for work.
  25. Hey! Joanna Newsom! I actually agree with the critic who said she sounded like a duck, but I'm up for seeing Roy Harper, there's a blast from the past :)) And I'm sure FlapJackDavey will be keen to see JN again. Thanks for the heads up titch. Edited to add: Erm, no, won't be going, just seen the prices - she's upped her game a bit then :-S Edited again to add: We should have got her down to the Goose before, looks like it's too late now, God knows what her fee is if they're charging that much for tix :-S
