Walking in South East London

And when it's dark and wet or foggy, as it was recently, it also means I dont miss the stop I get off at every day because I can't see where I am. Or if I'm immersed in my book, the talking bus tells me I've reached my stop. And if I couldn't see, I guess I'd love talking buses even more. Hoorah for talking buses, that's what I say :)) :)-D

I have skimmed through the previous thread on this subject, and I can't see a contact number or link to Mr Rose who seems to be the one who was dealing with it - does anybody have this info? I am happy to chase to find out what is happening, but I don't have time at the moment to seek out the contact details.

So is Somerfield's turning into Sainsbury's?

KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What did they say when you told them about the > state of their sausages Sue? xxxxxx I didn't have the heart. When they arrived, I said "ooh, that looks nice" and the person who brought them over said "Yes, we've got a new chef, he's really good." So that made the first mouthful even more disappointing ..... But basically I bottled out. However as I left most of it maybe they might have realised ..... Shame, I'd have loved to have found a nice quiet spot just round the corner to read the papers and have lunch and a pint after a hard night at the Goose, but lo, it was not to be :-$

Song to Aging Children Come - Joni Mitchell Erm, actually I think it's songs :-$

I think it's a lot nicer than it was, would be a great place to have lunch BUT went there once since the new chef and the renovation, the food looked very nice when it arrived (supposedly Cumberland sausages and mash), beautifully arranged on the plate, but the sausages appeared to contain no meat at all and had the texture of a damp flannel, and the mash was curiously tasteless despite the use of three different fresh herbs mixed in and placed around the sausages. Wasn't that cheap and wasn't good value for money at all - we're back at Franklins for their excellent Welsh rarebit for a fiver. Shame, because the Uplands is just round the corner from my house and I really wanted to like the food :-S

Next EDF Drinks - Friday 3rd April at The Lodge (above the EDT from 8:30PM)
Sue replied to georgia's topic in The Lounge
georgia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > They have invited us as they > are fairly new and want to meet some people who > live in the area. xxxxxxx Eh? They've invited us as nothing else they've tried to get punters in has worked, and they're desperate to get some good publicity via the forum instead of the rather lukewarm reception they've had (on the whole) up to now. They will be pulling out all the stops on the night to make sure forumites speak well of the venue after the forum drinks, hence the free food etc. Not that I've got anything against The Lodge, obviously, oh no not at all :-$ It was a great idea to do away with all the well-attended music and comedy gigs upstairs @ EDT and turn the space into a Private Members Club, RIP. Sorry to be cynical. -

Blimey. Maybe that will shut up all those apologists for Somerfield staff who insisted that not a single one of them could possibly have done any wrong, all the evidence to the contrary. Sorry to be harsh.

He could take legal action, but if what Bathsheba said is true, he wouldn't win a case in court was what I meant. But hey, the only course in law I've ever done was employment law, so what would I know :))

There should be a > keyholder in the case of an alarm. xxxxxx Yeh, the noise team has a great success record. Because if they don't come round within their target time, they don't record the call. In my experience. So consequently as they only record the ones they make in time or at all, they get near 100%. Though of course it would look a bit odd to make 100% so I guess they must record a few they don't get to. Oh, and if someone in your road is making so much noise you can hear it at the other end of your house with all the doors and windows closed at 4am on Christmas Eve, and preventing you getting to sleep, and if they are making so much noise they can't hear you when you bang and shout on their door, thus doubling the pain for the other neighbours, don't bother calling the noise team because they don't work on Christmas Eve. Rant over, sorry :) They do come sometimes :)
