Problems getting parcels delivered by royal mail
Sue replied to Sita's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip

They > said they would clean up their act, now we just > get the red cards :-S xxxxxxxx I have also complained in the past about this, but at least it's better than the parcel firm who left a card (after I'd been out all day) saying "parcel is in the bin" - and it was :-S On top of the rubbish bags :)) Luckily it wasn't bin day ..... :)) The other funny thing was one time a parcel was left on my doorstep (I subsequently discovered) and nicked. It contained a book called "How to save money on just about everything" - clearly whoever nicked it had already read it :)) -

If enough pressure is brought to bear by enough people, something will be done - something appropriate, I mean. There may be limited resources, but at the end of the day, managers etc want an easy life - if social services, the housing association, whoever, are bombarded with emails and letters, they will sort something just to get people off their backs. With the problem we had, it took about a year, but eventually it was sorted - including maintaining good relations with the people causing the noise and disruption. But yes, you do need to keep a record of the "incidents" - time, date and what happened - to build up a body of evidence so that someone somewhere will put it to the top of their in-tray ......

Yay! You could jump on and off anywhere and hang off the back with the wind in your hair - ah, nostalgia :) Course it was hell upstairs because it was full of smoke :( But hey, they looked good :)) And one conductor on the number 12 won some award - might have been an MBE actually -mfor being such a brilliant conductor (he was always in a good mood and he used to sing to the passengers - certainly cheered up the journey :) )

Fuschia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hah. And where do they go ?!?!?!

Ellie78, you have given me nightmares :))

The answer may not lie in prosecution but in addressing the root cause of the anti-social behaviour. Which may require additional support, a change of medication (if they are on it or should be on it), or some other more positive solution - after all, unless they are being deliberately obnoxious, and why should they, prosecution is not going to resolve the situation in the long term, or indeed in the short term - is it? :-S

Tazzi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > No im not, im defending them because i like them, > always have, i have just remembered why i dont > like this forum, its negative thats why i dont > post often, only when its needed. > What does OP mean? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sorry I edited my post and it crossed with yours. OP is original post or original poster. The forum is not negative - but surely people should feel free to post about something like this if they feel strongly about it? I too thought the BMC was great when it opened - it was fun and quirky, and it had great cakes. Then for similar reasons to Fuschia (though I never complained in writing) I stopped going. If nobody ever stuck their heads above the parapet, nothing would ever get done - and I don't agree that that's necessarily negative? I see it more as being proactive and trying to get things changed. Some people have the energy to do that, others just put up with things. That's not being positive, it's being apathetic! In my opinion .... So - did the BMC say what they actually intended to do about the service so people will say lovely things about them on the EDF?? :)
-
I certainly wouldn't want to distract attention from the OP by getting in any way personal - my point was about the BMC. I'm not sure that the length of time it's been in ED is relevant to the discussion, but hey ho ..... just my opinion ..... :-$

Tazzi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sue calm down i only told them what was happening > why are you taking it so personally??? xxxxxxxx Eh? What makes you think I'm taking it personally???? Erm, I'm not "uncalm" :)):)) :-S Though fair enough, I do get wound up about bad service, as I can never understand why someone would go into business - any kind of business - and then for years not appear to care about providing not even a good level of customer service but an acceptable one !! And I agree with Fuschia, it appears very poor that the BMC has only got bothered about this once it spread to the forum, not because of the original incident which she complained of (twice) without any response (6)

?? And it's taken them two weeks?? The administrator is .... owner? Manager? Or is it the forum administrator, and they're more worried about being discussed on here than about the poor service which gave rise to the discussion in the first place?? :-S

Edit again: Sorry, compounded error by then making a new post instead of, as I thought, editing the first one, oooops :-$

So why have they not been sufficiently bothered to contact Fuchsia and respond to her complaint then ?? :-S

Oh well, I've just halved my previous salary for a longer commute, but hey, it's about quality of life, innit. May change my mind after a few weeks of trekking up to Islington though :)) -

A couple of years back we and our neighbours had some similar problems. We were at the end of our tethers, and in the end involved the Housing Association of the people in question. It was very difficult to get anybody to take responsibility for addressing the issue, but after a lot of effort we eventually did. Whatever was done (and I think it may have involved adjustment of medication) the issue was completely sorted. The people still live there and all is sweetness and light :) Whilst having every sympathy with those whose genes or upbringing have predisposed them to have particular difficulties, it does not mean that their neighbours' lives should be made unpleasant. There has to be some kind of balance, and in the Whateley Road instance, from what has been said above, it seems that there isn't.

Rubbish, innit. They clearly don't need your custom, and aren't bothered about word spreading, either :-S

Thanks, hadn't realised it was only one stop from St P to Cally Road, don't know how long it would take me to get to Herne Hill tho (Is the 37 a reasonable service in the mornings?) I live just off North Cross Road. Usually travel by bus and usually via E&C !! I think I'll have to try every option and see which is the best overall. My bike is still on a farm in Herefordshire where I once lived - I think the farmers have probably appropriated it,and anyway if you saw me on it you would realise why I am never never never going to cycle in London (danger to self and others :)) ) -

The trek from King's Cross was dusty (all that building work going on) and gave me blisters (heels on for the interview :))) Edit: Have found about a dozen different ways but reckon they all take about one and a half hours, give or take, AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH !!!!! :-S -
Hey this place is great, individual and friendly, and right next to the Palmerston, hooray :) The Goose will definitely be back :)-D
