  1. Hutong at the Shard is excellent if you like spicy food. You get the view for free and it's easy to get to.
  2. I bought a great nighttime sleepbag for my boy from jojo. It has legs which is important as he likes to move up and down his cot to go to sleep. Unfortunately it's only in 2.5tog. I can't find any others anywhere. Has anyone seen any legged suits in a lower tog at all?
  3. I honestly don't know anything about him other than he likes golf and everyone is getting him golf stuff. He doesn't work. Maybe whiskey. Thanks guys!
  4. Thanks for the idea. Blokes are hard to buy for. He doesn't strike me as the reading/table book type of guy. Nor a shirt wearer. Very tricky.
  5. Attending a party for the husband of a distant friend. We know little about him. Can anyone think of a gift that most guys would like. He is a mans man. Around ?40-50.
  6. My boy likes to run free and play independently. If the weather isn't great, I take him to Dulwich library where the childrens section is separately. Occasionally we go to local soft plays but he is guaranteed a snotty nose after them. Other than the library, I was wondering if anyone has any hot tips of other enclosed spots or really good libraries for kids?
  7. They work for me, not so much to get baby to sleep, but to keep him asleep as it covers other noises like squeaky floorboards etc. we use an ioniser from amazon. It cancels dust and particles in the air and purifies the air. I have hayfever so this helps, by the by it makes white noise if you turn it on high.
  8. I have bought these before and found them ineffective. Best thing is damp the window and then tinfoil, sticks no problem. It moulds to the window so perfect for a short time fix, we always bring some on holiday. It's been more effective than most blinds on the market and I've tried many.
  9. It doesn't stop really. They mostly do it when they are actually teething as it soothes them. Whatever you do you can't react. If they think it's fun they will do it more. Little blighters.
  10. We used bathstore, good on price and payment scheme
  11. Thanks everyone, will check these out
  12. Hi, I don't drive, so walk my boy to dulwich park, peckham rye or goose green park most mornings. I tried the park opposite horniman yesterday which was a nice change. Are there any other parks nearby that people go to?
  13. Yeah our buggy was stolen from our front garden a few days ago. Our fault, but not very nice.
  14. Thanks everyone, booked it
  15. Norma's is great for kids http://www.parkermeridien.com/eat/normas/
  16. We are thinking of booking a villa near cala salada 20th September. I know it's cooler and rainier then. Has anyone been around then? Was it worth the trip or was it too wet?
  17. There is an insinkerator in the window of bells plumbing shop on lordship. We were going to get one but it took too much of our cupboard space.
  18. Unfortunately these start at size 6 and my boy is still in 4, nearly size 5.
  19. Hello, My boy is 18mths old and has been walking for about 7mths now. He wears flexible start rite shoes usually. I bought him wellies for the rainy weather but they are really hard for him to walk in and his feet often slip out. Does anyone know of anything softer and more flexible that are easy to put on (ie zips or Velcro) and suit the rain? I have seen something called rainsplats that look ideal but they are for older children it seems.
  20. We are getting a new kitchen fitted at great expense. We have a 1 year old and think it best to clear out for the three weeks it is taking to complete the works. However, we want to be close enough to pop back occasionally and check on progress etc. The kitchen is taking a lot of our savings so we are hoping someone might have an idea for a cheap holiday idea nearby? Unlikely I know, but fingers crossed.
  21. Ok. Let's get back to the excitement of the cinema. I hope they are going to do a toddler time, my kid loves going to the one at the Ritzy.
  22. I missed my chance to go today. Gutted. Is the information on the proposal written up anywhere does anyone know?
  23. We bought a dwarf rabbit that the pet shop said had been handled a lot so super friendly. We got it home. It turned into a very very large rabbit that bit anyone that went near it. Very aggressive, bless her. We moved to Jennings road and the foxes broke into her very secure hutch. Very sad. Don't get one unless you are giving to keep her inside.
