  1. NOTE. Please register for rides on Eventbrite so we can limit numbers, links below. NOTE the new rides info here is for March 29th, Saturday week. The rides for this Saturday, March 22nd are Canada Water to Greenwich and Blackheath < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/canada-water-to-greenwich-and-blackheath-cycle-ride-tickets-1288096835309 > and Acton to London Bridge < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/acton-to-london-bridge-cycle-ride-tickets-1288097487259 >. Plenty space on the short Canada Water ride; full up on the Acton ride, can try the Wait List. On 29th March we have 2 rides. One is Jamies’ annual long ride to Twickenham. The other is a short ride to observe the partial solar eclipse (we hope). 29th March, Ride 1. Solar Eclipse ride from Peckham to Greenwich < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/solar-eclipse-ride-from-peckham-to-greenwich-tickets-1296291014319 > There will be a partial (40%) eclipse on a Saturday morning conveniently starting a bit after 10, maxing at about 11 and over by 12. A perfect fit for a ride. Where to watch it – next to the Greenwich Observatory of course! Ride will start 10am in Peckham Square and head directly to Greenwich Park on a flat route then up the hill to the Observatory. Should be there for the maximum with 40% of the sun obscured. Will stop and watch for a while then head back to Peckham for 12,30-1pm. Bruce Leading. Southwark Cyclist’s well known control over Saturday morning weather will of course ensure clear skies. Come and join us (and remember to bring serious eye protection). 29th March, Ride 2. Waterloo to Twickenham River Ride < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/waterloo-to-twickenham-river-ride-tickets-1296297804629 > Jamie is leading this relaxed ride that involves some enjoyable cycling in stages for about 17 miles in all. 80% of the route is on quieter roads and some unsurfaced river paths. This route is predominantly flat and thus suitable for all types of bicycles and regular rider abilities. Coordinating Instructions and Timings Riders will meet at 09.30am on Saturday 29th March at the bottom of the steps outside and under the Waterloo Station Victory Arch Clock that is 50 yards up on the right from where York Road meets Mepham Street and Cab Road just before the road bridge. A short Riders safety briefing will be given at 09.30am. Route From Waterloo Station the ride will head for the river and on through Battersea Park and the Power Stn then cross Putney Bridge. We will then head to Chiswick Eyot and Richmond where we will cross Richmond bridge on our way past Eel Pie Island. The ride will finish at Twickenham Stn where we will catch a train back to Waterloo with an approx ETA of 2.30pm. Please note that all timings are flexible. Rations and Water There will be a 30-minute coffee stop and we will stop again to get a snack at Richmond and Riders are welcome to bring their own. Checks and Equipment Riders are urged to pre-check general ABC bike serviceability before the event. A = Air in tyres, B = Brakes, C= Chain & gears etc. Communications Please feel free to contact me with any issues regarding this event on: 07976 803741. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
  2. Go down to the sorting office and ask for it. I did this. I didn't get much but thereafter I have received post 3 or 4 times per week
  3. I think that the flood that is meant to be alleviated would be in Rye Lane. The aim is to keep the water in the park and release it slowly so that land closer to the Thames is not inundated
  4. A bund is just a raised band of earth. Looks like one in the SW corner to me, assuming i've got my compass the right way up
  5. any solicitor can do it. You need certified copies of all sorts of things to "prove" wills. Cost me about £5 per copy
  6. but GPs have your medical records. Perhaps by "self diagnosis" you meant that you recognised the pain.

    Ageism

Might be. How old are you and what are you applying for?
  8. A starter-free method is to make normal dough, let it rise and then put some aside. Make the remainder into normal bread. Then takethe set-aside dough, add more flour and water but no more yeast, let it rise, set a bit aside and make bread with the remainder. Repeat. Your starter will slowly sour from wild yeasts in your kitchen. I did it this way.
  9. Ayres in Nunhead used to sell it
  10. Beauticians can do it. Anyone can. Currently unregulated. It's a neurotoxin which is slowly absorbed by the body https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-to-crack-down-on-unregulated-cosmetic-procedures
  11. I am surprised to see that the list includes shingles. You need a prescription from the pharmacist. So, a chat, diagnosis and warnings from the pharmacist and then the prescription.
  12. The other use of keylock safes that I am aware of is Airbnb. The person renting out the property puts the key in such a safe and the incoming tenant has the code so they can get in and get the key. If you find it locked against you, I should immediately remove it or get it removed.
  13. https://www.samuels-solicitors.co.uk/news/right-to-view There is no legal right to a view. This applies both here and at the Aylsham Centre vis a vis the view from the top of the car park
  14. https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/register/organisation/?sraNumber=70939#collapseLeo nothing registered against them. Another office in Hemel Hempstead.
  15. Krystals are great. Post Office there too (usually a queue). I had both done as a "walk-in".
  16. We have a shared drain and TW was responsible for fixing it when it was blocked. It was hard to get them to do accept their responsibilities but they did in the end
  17. Try the RSPCA for help
  18. Just what I was thinking. See you in the queue at 8am
  19. I think you are right re Southwark https://www.southwark.gov.uk/parking/disabled-parking/parking-with-a-blue-badge
  20. I went in the Peckham Office yesterday (same problem) i was missing about two weeks of post including this important letter. Opening hours greatly reduced. 8-10 only. I tried to pick up my missing post. Woman on the desk told me she would give me what she could find (!). She gave me "what had been sorted" ie two letters including one sent that day. The rest, she implied was unsorted. No staff to sort it or deliver it.
  21. Report it yourself. If you have evidence of misbehaviour involving children, you should report it to the police.
  22. The southwark Foodbank has a "wanted" list here https://southwark.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/ It's the final date which counts so the southwark foodbank would definitely take them
