  1. I'm about to display some outrageous ignorance: it's a long time since I've watched/played tennis, but one used to have to win by two clear games. What's with a 7-6 win?
  2. I'm sure it's not related to the above, but I came across some very noisy, copulating crickets this afternoon.
  3. Try and stop worrying - I think Kings errs on the cautious side. I had 11 scans and was convinced my daughter was going to have two heads. In the end, she was born with wonky toes which I can live with.
  4. legalbeagle, if you'd been served by a young hunk with a french accent, you really wouldn't need to ask.
  5. I think Sean could sport the sideboards. Who's brave enough to suggest it?
  6. Notonecta glauca - waterboatman on stream to left of oval by the main gates 100s of Minnows (I think) and one moorhen chick in Japanese Garden lake 9 new ducklings on big lake And several unusual bugs in the meadow parts wot I can't identify. Quite a few previously unseen roustabouts on the common.
  7. Beware the 'demerera' sugar bowl, Moos, I'm sure I detected nutmeg shavings.
  8. Two streets behind my house! Pretty gruesome when cat has obviously carried him by his head - one eye down.
  9. *thinks to self, TedMax must stop reading "Twilight" series*
  10. Silly *Bob*. The little minx brought it in of course.
  11. Yup, that's the one. I was tipped the wink by the litter-picker-upper, so sat for five mins and was rewarded by a blur of orange.
  12. Bastard cats. I spent half an hour this morning coaxing a frog in the kitchen onto a sheet of plastic while holding a bowl over it - I was too squeamish to pick it up.
  13. Ooh, ooh, ooh - I've just seen a kingfisher at the small lake. Lot's more to report - just need to do some species checking.
  14. Hear, hear!
  15. Quite right - I meant Consort Road.
  16. Corner of Bellenden Road/Choumert Road
  17. I think you mean the Frog on the Green on Choumert Road.
  18. Ted, I think you'll find the one on the left is merely left over from the retreat from Salonika. Mention Simon Wiesenthal if you want to put him off his game.
  19. Sorry to announce there is a dead, all-black cat on the pavement outside no. 220 Barry Road. Looks like it has been knocked by a car. It has no collar and is medium sized.
  20. An old folk song: The Wee Cooper of Fife.
  21. What do they teach in schools these days? Behold, the Strawberry Mivvi!
  22. So sorry folks, that's what comes of not paying the bills. HAL9000 you were right with cooper but we'll run with yours.
