  1. Arthur J. Raffles?
  2. Shameful. Might as well invite them up the rivers to invade.
  3. Absolutely lovely peeps running the show but I was a trifle disappointed. Maybe my expectations were raised too much. Found the tomato base watery and not seasoned. The anchovies were tasty but not enough of them. I prefer the ones in the market in Peckham. My daughter's had loads of ham though, so she was easily satisfied.
  4. David Carradine died today [in rather odd circumstances]. Loved that show when I was a kid.
  5. Where they ultimately go is on my washing! Why do I have a line underneath a tree? Blackberries are in full blossom at the mo which bodes well for a good harvest. Next time you pass a horse chestnut, have a good look at the conkers. They look like gooseberries at this stage with fine red hairs. Edited to say I really meant sweet chestnuts. Conkers at this stage look pretty much as you'd expect.
  6. Slightly perturbed that when I explained I didn't have a polling card, I just had to supply my address. Even though I proffered ID they didn't want to see it.
  7. Is he an alcoholic or just likes a good drink? Botham et al seemed to get away with it.
  8. Pretty Vacant - Sex Pistols
  9. Not very comprehensive though *Bob*, it doesn't have a sheepshank. My bad. It was tucked away in the Scouting section. Alas, it seems to have fallen from grace.
  10. I was truly wafted here from Paradise.
  11. You're a pink toothbrush - Max Bygraves
  12. Man of Kent in Nunhead.
  13. MP said: Restricting ratio of imports would be desirable but I suspect unenforceable employmentwise Cricket teams seem to manage it with no problems. Max of two overseas players per team.
  14. The Who was in response to "?"! Perfectly valid in my brain.
  15. Oh for goodness sake, join the football thread if you want a childish tit for tat argument on here
  16. Love that book! Do we need to organise another book swap soon?
  17. So much in last two days. Have to say, the binoculars have been the best ?6 investment ever. Now I just need a cheapo camera. All found on the Rye: Cuckoo spit on lavender plants in Sexby Garden (the whole of which smells divine at the moment) Red lily beetle Copper coloured beetle (like ladybird shape and size but without spots in a lovely burnished shade) Both turtles sunning themselves on the island. Could they be red eared sliders? The trees (some sort of Poplar?) that look as though the fairies have spread cotton wool on the ground Red, and blue dragonflies And the highlight - a young cuckoo. Never seen one before so thrilled.
  18. My Generation - The Who
  19. Is the Great Alignment when we switch to digital TV?
  20. A very happy birthday Mr Piers.
  21. Fairly sure lock up is at 8.30 in the summer.
  22. Not sure that helps EDOldie. A number of inferences could be made from a low turnout. Surely it is better to deliberately spoil your ballot paper? Still don't have my voting card.
  23. They weren't the only neighbours not invited. *flounces*
  24. Due to an insomniacal night I began to watch CDWM. Got to third episode then nothing. It was proving to be such a bitchy series too.
