  6. I have seen shady goings on in front of St John's Church. Have they no sense of propriety?
  7. In my youth it was very easy to obtain an annual recording licence from the Post Office which made all things copied, legal. For some reason they did away with it. Would it not be easy enough to re-thingummy it (can't think of word). Ditto dog licences ....

  11. I have found the Police pretty good in Peckham. They followed up on a malicious call my daughter received recently and put the oik into touch. This was related to a punch she had received from another lad, which was taken very seriously; she gave video evidence and we are waiting for this to come to trial. I've only reported two serious incidents that I witnessed and the police responded immediately. Also, my far from perfect but lovely daughter has been on the other side of the police's attention (!) and they dealt with it very effectively, with no complaints from me. I think they do a pretty thankless, sometimes dangerous job fairly well.

  14. Love Lies Bleeding - Elton John
  15. I don't have a problem with it if it means speed bumps will be removed. Don't see how it will be policed, though; I frequent East Dulwich Rd on a regular basis in the early morning which seems to make drivers think they can go at about 50 mph and nary a copper around.
  16. I see you're talking through your colon again HB.
  17. Camberwell New Rd closed off due to accident. Walk?
  18. Happy Birthday to you both.
  19. Hurrah - two of the moorhen chicks in the Japanese Garden are still alive. PS - if it turns out to be wrens, you have very keen eyesight L. I've never noticed them having a white bit. PPS - binoculars on Chrissie list.
  20. Sounds like Mrs Mamora is in for a lecture tonight!
  21. The scale of these puns has got out of hand now.
  22. Could well have been pied wagtails. Quite a few up the Rye. They are always in pairs and like nesting in crevices.
  23. What can I say? It was hot that day, I'd had a pint or two ...
  24. Oh no, Francis Rossi recently cut off his ponytail. No more classics then.
  25. I'll think you'll have to wait for Lost The Plot's ransom demand. He won last year.
