  1. Steward's on an earlier entry: if you hadn't heard of a character, yet guessed it correctly, surely Google or similar has been brought into play. Is this not cheating? Also, what womanofdulwich did in her last clue entry was v. helpful, ie, lumping all clues together meant one didn't have to search back. Also, can we have an easypeasy clue so I don't feel so stupid?
  2. I believe suitcases are the number one culprit.
  3. Not excusing what happened - rather cruel - but you said bait was laid. Do you think they shut Jack Russell in to deal with vermin, which is what they are pretty good at?
  4. Please tell me someone else is watching "The Returned"? Seriously creepy, impossibly gorgeous women, can't work out plot at all.
  5. Use of the word 'hospitalised'. Where did it come from? What did we use before?
  6. That is fantastic. Hope it goes 10 rounds round the world.
  7. @ *Bob* According to the lovely chap in my local newsagent, there are two types of magical trickery. Can't vouch for the legality of them though. www.crictime.com www.cricvid.com Not enjoying this test as much as Trent Bridge, perhaps I thrive on seat of pants cricket after all.
  8. I think a cinema would be lovely but I also like the idea of a foodbank. Room for both?
  9. "Can I remind people. There is golf on tv for 12 hours a day for the next 3 days. So you do have something to do." Are you mad? The honour of the nation is at stake a mere eight miles away.
  10. I'm sure I heard Dulwich Cricket Club mentioned on TMS earlier, but I only had half an ear out. Was I imagining it? As you were Keef.
  11. G'day, Mackenzie. Looking forward to Lord's?
  12. Here you go, Nettie, this charcoal is reusable: http://www.flat-d.com/flatdreusable.html
  13. I've resorted to a hefty dose of red wine - supposed to be good for the heart.
  14. Not good for my blood pressure. How exciting is this?
  15. Have a wonderful day everyone. I'm at work, so should you happen to amble past, all wee nips gratefully received.
  16. I'm a romantic, so it's walk everytime. Darling Geoffrey was saying that it would be impossible for all levels to maintain the spirit of cricket from schoolboy to test matches. I think he's got it arse about face: be exemplary at the top level and let it filter down.
  17. What a super day it's been - that's the joy and frustration of test cricket. So agree with Bob re Sky - I've been holding a one-woman protest against them since The Beautiful Game was lost to terrestial tv. Don't think I've affected their coffers yet. As you were: deluded.
  18. Revision: that's positive!
  19. I think that's called deluded.
  20. I saw the 'Cripple' play too on Saturday. I thought it was very funny interspersed with poignant moments and ending. I though the two old biddies stole the show and though Radcliffe was fine, I didn't think his contribution justified two solo bows at the end.
  21. Bathsheba (as in Gabriel)?
  22. Michael Henchard
  23. Wouldn't the kindest thing be to shoot the poor thing? It's apparently ailing, wounded, been set upon by dogs and distressed by humans trying to catch it - not a brilliant quality of life.
