  1. i did it years ago following MSE advice and got a lower band. You can see what other houses/flats in your street pay for council tax and estimate whether it will be granted.
  2. i went to school in Rochester. I can tell you the best places to bunk off and the finest pubs!
  3. The stools are the most uncomfortable I've ever sat on - guess that ensures quick turn around. Bar staff lovely, had snacks which were ok but not what I was expecting. Lunch time menu was still on display which led to some confusion. To be fair, I was in a hurry, would like to go back when I have more time, but I would take a thick jumper to fold up under my bottom. ETA these comments refer to Refreshment Rooms, not trendy Lot 9.
  4. Competition from fireworks at 1.40 am today. Thanks for waking me up, arseholes.
  5. \who goes oh, oh, oh? Father Christmas walking backwards.
  6. Westminster Boating Base?
  7. Robin Hood, 'son' of Herne the Hunter.
  8. "Thursdays in the Park" by Hilary Boyd Crap, crap, crap, CRAP!
  9. For Pete's sake, Landbeyondthewardrobe, use a bloody apostrophe when appropriate. Will get my initial on this thread, or burst trying.
  10. Fair play to Australia. By declaring they have set up an exiting finish to the series.
  11. Beans are a morally dubious choice: The Pythagorean code further restricted the diet of its followers, prohibiting the consumption or even touching of any sort of bean. It is probable that this is due to their belief in the soul, and the fact that beans obviously showed the potential for life
  12. Anyone else think Lyon has an incredibly inelegant action? Doesn't stop him getting a maiden over, mind.
  13. Perhaps you didn't notice that Shorty had edited his post. The original photo was of dill that was not pining but had definitely passed on.
  14. Sunday tickets looking a good bet now.
  15. male character: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/62/Blue_Mars_symbol.svg/400px-Blue_Mars_symbol.svg.png
  16. Reckon that's a homophone. Postman Pat. Am I right?
  17. Huzzah! Going to be a good day, sun shining, wickets falling and BLOWERS IS BACK.
  18. Those Bow Bells sure have a long range. Edited to add: Dear Wiki says: "A study was carried out by the city in 2000 to see how far the Bow Bells could be heard, and it was estimated that the bells would have been heard six miles to the east, five miles to the north, three miles to the south, and four miles to the west." That's approximately to Albany Road, so Bermondsey, Walworth and OKR are in, don't think Peckham makes it - which would be a relief to my dear, departed Granny, she would have been insulted by the term.
  19. I vaguely recall from many years ago, that when my private landlord tried to retrospectively charge me for various things, the solicitor I dealt with quoted some precedent that said charges could not be applied more than 18 months previously.
  20. Thanks all. Bugger, I could have done with a refund.
  21. I've received an email apparently from HM Revenue & Customs suggesting I've overpaid tax and need to submit a form to claim it. Is this kosher or a scam? I've not opened the attachment.
  22. Must be more common than thought - I saw one yesterday in a back yard in Lordship Lane.
  23. Beating the Bounds? 50 shades of collective experience? If seen with pots and pans, Rough Music? Whacks on, whacks off?
  24. A couple of hours ago I thought Aus. had done enough, but now I think we'll win. Shame they haven't got Agar in reserve.
