  1. Have a great day at the races, mon brave.
  2. Broad giving it some welly: taken four wickets for 83
  3. I miss their sausages.
  4. That's told you. In the words of the sainted Norman Tebbit: on yer bike!
  5. New, affordable homes good. Increased parking bad. I must declare a NIMBY interest in this. Parking along Adys Road/C. Palace Road is already at a premium at different times of the day/week as a result of: two churches, one school, one playground & park, one leisure centre and several cafes/restaurants. Perhaps the answer is insisting on underground parking as part of the development, like Altima Court.
  6. Don't know if it's legally possible, but why don't you list what you have, list what you want and see if you can do a house swap? Someone in Nunhead may be desparate to move to ED.
  7. If that's a reference to the IRA bomb at Harrods, it ain't very amusing.
  8. Are you dressing up in your wife's clothes again?
  9. The shops are fab. Ayrs the Bakers, Sopers the Fishmongers, great greengrocer, two butchers, flower shops, deli/cafe, bonkers chemist emporium and an undertakers.
  10. There was an interesting article on the BBC website a few days ago. It was about how Tendulkar transcended the caste system - I was completely ignorant and thought that sort of thing had faded out decades ago.
  11. What moved me most, was that I had no idea a service was held annually for those who died on the streets.
  12. This report made be blub a little: http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2013/nov/15/sachin-tendulkar-india-summer-west-indies
  13. Whisht, SCSB. You had me all excited there with a piccy of Derek Longmuir. Turns out to be David.
  14. A few months ago I remonstrated with James Nesbitt on his pronunciation of "dissect". Strangely, he's not been back.
  15. Annabel, my sincere condolences to you and your family.
  16. Patience, dear chap, only a couple of seasons to go now.
  17. Just for you, malumbu: I saw a little lad wearing a Hamlets top in Goose Green playground today. It was rather heartening amongst all the 'big team' shirts.
  18. Irish shop on Lordship Lane have some.
  19. I feel confident I can represent the Angelic Host. You may cower in front of me.
  20. Perhaps it was slightly more important to ready the cemetery for tomorrow. There are quite a few commonwealth war graves there.
  21. You are all so cynical. Any fule knows that grey is just the undercoat. Bellenden Road will spring into a multi-coloured Mediterranean fiesta as soon as the chic shackles are removed. Or as soon as I have converted everyone to watching "Inspector Montalbano".
  22. It's true, Jeremy, I can feel it in my water.
  23. I'm guessing what we now know as Kings on the Rye nightclub which was converted into the white block of flats on the corner of Peckham Rye and East Dulwich Road.
  24. I'm enjoying "By Any Means". Sort of like Spooks but without any bells on. Just my level of enjoyment after a few glasses of wine. I'm not enjoying the new series of I. Montalbano. What have they done to Livia?
  25. I think tautology is when one says RAC Club.
