  1. I was supposed to have a blood test today, the sort you stick a plastic thing on your finger and press a tab (very Star Trek). Despite having the loveliest nurse in the universe (Gardens Surgery since you ask) who complete understood my fears, I couldn't go through with it. Does it hurt? Is it bearable? Please don't reply if you are rugged, brave and heroic. I want to hear from the wimps and cowards.
  2. My dad had botox in his rectum for a bowel complaint. Makes you think twice about sticking it in your face!
  3. My daughter is August born and went to a different primary school in her reception year. She experienced quite bad bullying when she joined her new school in year 1 as friendships/alliances had already been formed. My advice is not to keep her out for the year if you are going to stay in the same area.
  4. And Pampas?
  5. If they removed the tiddly bit of bus lane (east to west) that would ease up the flow.
  6. Try walking to the top of the Monument with a hangover. Then I'll be impressed. (I just about managed it without puking. My daughter had missed the class trip due to illness and I had promised to take her.)
  7. Second indoor market in Peckham, Chinese chap v. helpful. Cheaper than Zenoria. If it's not a waterproof job, the key cutter in the market can easily change them.
  8. Ignore post. Completely screwed up trying to post in another thread.
  9. Haven't heard much from StraferJack recently - go figure.
  10. I struggled with Parade's End and gave up after not very far in. Found it somewhat turgid and wanted to slap the protaganist. Is it worth persevering with? Haven't seen the TV series so no preconceptions.
  11. I cut my finger quite badly this morning. Stupid cook's knife in the washing-up bowl.
  12. He's called Peter (one of his names). He is an absolute darling.
  13. Well hello, Dolly!
  14. Save all your kisses for me.
  15. The meringues are top notch. Never had a problem with staff but I've only been a handful of times.
  16. I've seen The Times van deliver in Ondine Rd at about 4.30 in the morning (darn those cigarette runs). Don't know about Sunday though.
  17. The "William Blake woz not 'ere, righ'?"
  18. The blessed Sarah Beaney did a basement conversion on her programme this week (no idea what it's called).
  19. They have them in Warwick Gardens and Burgess Park and look a lot of fun.
  20. Tommy rot. I did a round from 9-13 years. Loved being up early - a friendlier world of people at that hour.
  21. I've eaten horse in France. Don't see what that has to do with circuses.
  22. I am seriously bored with Coldplay. They've made me split my infinitive - that's unforgivable.
  23. I can't do two lots of tension and dubious loyalties.
  24. Gaillimh Ab?!
