I'm sure they were just doing so in genuine concern rather than spite. In all honesty, I think 5 and 8 are too young to go without adult supervision. 5 especially! That seems teeny!!

There was at least one car jacking in Sydenham recently (March). A car was taken with a child in the back. Same thing happened with the car being flagged down as if there was a problem then someone jumping in when the lady got out to check. Which LA are you? My mum's in Greenwich and I know funding is a massive issue as they are so tight! The teacher quoted in that article sounds like she's in the wrong job!

What help does your child specifically need? What reasons have they given you for not giving him a statement? Is there already additional help set up for him? Is he on medication and what does your GP suggest he needs? I'm not sure there's a fashion not to give the child a statement. The school would want the extra resources and every teacher that I know genuinely wants the best for every child and has a duty to provide that. Sorry for the questions! My mum is a deputy head teacher at a primary so i'm asking her!

I'm neither a mum nor in my 30's / 40's so can't really comment on that, and I don't know how trendy your 17 year old neighbour is. I'm 26 and have always thought of the WI as being a bit dull until I went to the Shoreditch Sisters WI meeting with a friend and really enjoyed it, mainly because of the lovely people I met rather than the things they did. It's not a new thing, it's just rebranded I guess and trying to appeal to a wider audience. If you want an national treasure like the WI to continue, you have to encourage new people to join and reaching out to younger groups seems obvious. Girl power... dulwichmum WI's have had a bit of a makeover recently with younger women keen to get involved. Look past the stereotypical image of the WI and see it as a group of women interested in learning new skills, looking to make new friends and improve their community. Maybe you should try it and see if you like it?

You can do whatever you like with your vote, as it's your vote. But why would you want to film / photo it?!

I know if I eat too much and don't exercise, I get fat. But if I eat too little, my body seems to cling onto weight. I always justify it by saying my metabolism is like a muscle, it has to be used to make it work. You can never make sweeping statements about anything to do with the human body, as everyone is different, but I do believe that eating less and doing more makes you healthier / thinner / fitter.

I think she looks awful - especially at the very badly fitted bikini top. Send her to the Bra Studio in forest hill!!

I have an imac and much prefer it to a PC, but I only do basic emailing, photo's, calendar stuff on it and do wonder if I wasted money going for the sexy imac rather than a PC which I had before without problems. Ho hum!

Why don't you get a PC? They are much cheaper.
