  1. He didn't have to, but he did. And fair play to that.
  2. You MUST appeal or they will continue with this bad practice. You simply cannot get a ticket for sitting in traffic, which is what you were doing. The appeal should be because 'The offence did not take place'.
  3. Hansler isn't controlled and the single yellows by the carpet shop aren't signed so are unenforceable. Appeal. If it's filmed from the camera car, ask for the whole film, which will show you not getting out of the car.

  5. My bike reads 7.1 miles to Oxford St, so probably not far off with the distance from town, by road.
  6. There's a 'change of gear' sound from certain aircraft types (these: http://www.cityjet.com/about-us/our-fleet/) as they turn over ED for final approach to London City Airport. As NickT say, it's a flap thing.
  7. Good idea, but just too expensive
  8. I've seen this before - thieves pop open the seat on Vespa ET2/ET4s to get at helmets often stored in there. The unlocked petrol cap is under there too, so perhaps frustrated at being unable to find anything, or start the bike, they torch it. Nice.
  9. Have you told the police? They may have it on their stolen list.
  10. BROKEN BRITAIN
  11. The truck was probably using part of the straight ahead lane to make the left turn possible.
  12. They won't be used to catch speeding motorists, as they aren't certified as speed cameras. More likely for parking enforcement or traffic flow. And they won't be valid unless there are signs telling motorists they're there.

  14. If there's any rubbish blowing around outside our house, I pick it up an put it in my bin(s). It's easier than getting upset about it.
  15. This is a Clothes Aid van: http://geographyphotos.photoshelter.com/image/I0000IJFzWyts4kI

  17. They're actually illegal, but tolerated. That's why they put them up at dawn.
  18. More traffic lights. A trade-off for more safe crossing points I suppose.
  19. I'm not convinced CCTV would've stopped the crime anyway - all it does is record it, probably in this case, just some grainy shots of someone with a hood damaging your car.
  20. A Vietnamese eatery
  21. It's just the Blitz at the moment. The V1s and V2s fell towards the end of the war.
  22. Dreams half-price sale NOW ON
  23. I manage to park outside my house and I share a road with Dell Autos and their many customers. I sometimes have to park around the corner, or wait for a spot, especially on Saturdays (which probably wouldn't be patrolled as a CPZ), but that's a small price to pay for having a car in London and being next to a vibrant High Street. No CPZ.
  24. I'd prefer a borough-wide crackdown on people using mobiles while driving. It's this type of driver that always seems to trying to knock me off my bike.
