  16. Exploring Dulwich. Meet Pavilion Cafe in the middle of Dulwich Park (SE21 7EA) at 10am. Back at 12 noon. Start Dulwich Park, then up Dawsons Hill for the view. Next across to Dulwich Hamlet football stadium and down Greendale to Dulwich Village. Continuing south past Dulwich Picture Gallery and Dulwich College to the only Toll Gate in London. Then loop up to Kingswood House, aka Bovril Castle, back through Bel Air Park, on to Herne Hill Velodrome, and back to Dulwich Park. An easy 2 hour ride. Shorter than usual (14,8km) to allow for walking up the steeper bit of the ascent of Dawsons Hill. Route at https://goo.gl/NSRbDL Run by Southwark Cyclist but ALL welcome
  17. Just had a bathroom refurb by Ward Brothers Bathrooms Ltd. 0208 656 9851 They were conscientious, efficient and took great care with their work, nothing was too much trouble . Very good finish. And finished before time. Highly recommend them.
  18. Yes do try cycling. I restarted cycling about 20 years ago and cycled to islington. I am now retired (at 67) but despite arthritis in knees i love to cycle. The separated cycle lanes are growing in number and there is a very good cycle route circling the elephant and castle. One of the quietest bridges is Southwark (good for St Paul's) with a separate cycle bit. The new lower Thames Street cycle lanes are already part useable and are a joy to use! Do see if you can get hold of the TFL cycle maps they are very good for quiet routes etc. Also join London Cycling campaign and get free third party insurance too, the local Southawark group hold regular led rides on some Saturdays which is great for anxious starters. My bike is still the same bike, costing ?250. It is a bit heavy but reliable, so you can see how cheap cycling can be. And of course healthier despite general pollution.
  19. I learnt recently at Dulwich leisure centre that Fusion have lost the contract and another company are taking over.

  23. this is Paul's right? i have found the same. He has been very generous and helpful, well worth supporting.
  24. the so called research that appeared to show there was a link with autism has been shown to be rubbish , by more studies and scrutiny of the original conclusion but unfortunately the idea has remained and been circulated. this has caused many parents to refuse the mmr and there have been serious outbreaks of measles which is a serious and damaging disease. Speak to you GP about your fears so that you can be reassured.
  25. I love those cottages , they have a great feel about them. If you need more space why not try to purchase the building supply place further up the road adjacent to the ex- garden centre?
