  1. Try the falafel place next to artichoke place. Excellent. I love the enormous falafel sandwich only ?3
  2. I need various garden tools sharpened. I tried somewhere local ( Garden Centre in Upland Road) a while ago but the tools were no sharper. Can anyone recommend someone they have used? can you tell me roughly how much they charge ? UPDATE: I have now used Sharpsmith in Tintgel Gardens. Very quick and reasonable prices, he will also collect and deliver. He also managed to sharpen and oil my very old and very heavy push rotary mower. And I am happy with the sharpening. Can contact him on 07818568095 It is good to find someone so local too.
  3. I have lived in the north end of Ivanhoe road for over 30 years and it is very friendly and great place to live. The houses get sun from the back in the morning as it is east and the front in the afternoon (west). Or vice-versa on the other side of the road. The garden gets lots of sun, obviously it depends on whether you have big fences trees etc.
  4. also yesterday they had to close Peckham Rye Station as water was cascading down the stairs. Very bad at my home too, but avoided a flood
  5. Clearly this person is distresed, perhaps you should call the police who would find appropriate help.

If someone is shouting like that and there are clearly distressed children then it is regular emotional abuse. So please call the police or the NSPCC but do something. This does not mean the the children will be taken necessarily away but it means that the family can be helped.
  7. You really ought to call the police , they can then find the exact location. This sounds like a child protection issue and the children could be in need of help. A week is a long time for this to be going on
  8. Looked on their website. Interestingly they do not mention any profession building trade standards associations that they belong to. Nor do they say anything about their work being insured. I feel for you, we thought we were very careful and still picked some cowboys too.
  9. Have written to both Peter John and Erasmus, and urge many people to do likewise...

  11. I have been getting texts from talktalk, they have restored services to some customers but have still some work to do. They say it is a priority......
  12. ours has been playing up. People said when they phone they get a message saying high call volume on BT so can't get through. we are with TalkTalk too. This has happened on occasions on and off for the last few months. Haven't yet called TT about it though.....
  13. yes it was a good atmosphere. i agree with joom, the stalls are better facing into the road, not so congested and can see things better
  14. rubygrace, I hope you called the police......
  15. see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-24994148 I have found these stickers , small transparent sticker attached to my door bell, which apparently burglars are putting on homes to mark likely targets. I have always removed them when I spot them and advise you do too. Saw one just this week!
  16. Firstly, of course the driver should have stopped to see if you were ok and given details. It is illegal not to. Secondly wearing high vis clothes is very helpful. It is still staggering to see cars running into a cyclist and still claim not to have seen them. Silverfox's remarks about you making an excuse are offensive and ignorant. I have been knocked down myself wearing high vis by a car coming towards me and suddenly turning (his) right straight into me. I went over the bonnet. Drivers (of which I am one as well as a cyclist) need to be more vigilant of other road users.....yes, cyclist are other legitimate road users. Do report it to police Josephine b, and I hope you are ok now.
  17. can't motorbikes park in a car parking space? Why do you have to park on the pavement? There isn't'y much pavement so I would think if you parked on it you would be in the way.
  18. Can anyone recommend a good dentist?
  19. just made jam from the street fruits in Grove hill Road, namely crab apples for jelly. There are still lots there and rowan berries too.
  20. Due to filming with corner of Ivanhoe road. Only all day today.
