I'm really bored, can someone start a heated debate please
mollydoodle replied to Otta's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I am currently have a friend who is quite upset with me as I have said I can't make her wedding because of no kiddies rule. By time of her wedding I will have a two month old newborn and she keeps asking me why I can't just leave the baby with my sister for the day and maybe once I have the baby I will change my mind and see how easy it is to leave him (I already have a toddler so I know what it is like looking after newborns). My husband has told me just say I will think about it rather than get into debate about no kiddies rule as I think there should be an exception at least for under ones -
I think foxes are issue to be dealt with I have had at least one in my house that came through the catflap and left me a rather nasty poo on my floor. They have since tried to get in again as the catflap is now locked and we find them banging against it. I have a cat, a toddler and about to have a newborn and it does concern me that foxes will still try and get in. We looked at ways to deter them but all the info people like the RSPCA had was how to feed them!!

They tend not to grit underhill road and makes for interesting driving at the steep bit especially when the p13 is going down the hill as well! We live at the top of underhill road and don't drive down it in the snow just use the main road

Though I had my first child at home I am thinking of going to hospital this time I will have to go to Kings if I do as I am with the Lanes midwifes but if I was in the normal midwife care I would definitely have given the birthing centre at Lewisham a go as seems a nice midway idea between a home and hospital birth.

Cranial osteopothy - any recommendations locally?
mollydoodle replied to Widdy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Another recommendation for Rachel at the vale practice I took my daughter first when she was a baby and the whole family ended up seeing her for different things - she is great as if it only takes one session to fix that is all she recommends -
Not sure if this has been suggested before but I went to a baby shower last weekend and pulled together a list of things that I called random but essential for during and post labour that a new mum wouldn't necessarily get or think of. It included for labour bendy straws, flannel, magicool spray as so hot in hospital, pack of haribo and for post almond oil for baby massage, tea tree oil, infacol, lanolin cream and breast pads. You can really spend as much as you want but I thought it was more of a personal present with some thought behind it.

Hi The bugaboo bee plus's do have this fault. My bugaboo did this and I took it back to john Lewis who got the wheels replaced they actually put on the older model wheels and now buggy doesn't jiggle at all. It seems to be a common problem I remember as think there is a bugaboo facebook page that has a lot of complaints about this.

I have bugaboo bee plus which is great as so compact but only issue which has affected quite a few of the plus's is the front wheels would wobble if you tried to walk quickly we took it back to John Lewis who actually fitted wheels from a bugaboo bee that fixed the problem. This might have been corrected as bought mine last year.

Some reassurance that i'm not doing a bad job!!!
mollydoodle replied to jennyh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Please do not feel like you are the only mum to feel like this. I went through a very similar situation with my baby who wouldn't latch on and postponed it as long as possible to try a bottle with hindsight felt I was advised to go to long as we didn't realise that the syringe feeding was nowhere near enough and after four days we nearly had to go to kings to go on a drip unless she had a bottle. We did then try breastfeeding but all she did was chew them like your baby decided to do mixed feeding by a bottle which was a very emotional decision and involved a lot of tears. After a few weeks went solely onto formula as you can only really express when baby is asleep and you get no rest which doesn't help the emotions and ended up getting mastitis!! I did feel very guilty during all of this and did worry that everyone would me judge me when they saw the bottle though of course no one does but I know how you feel about being out in public used to be glad had a big baby as hoped people would think she was older!! To be honest though even now don't really like telling people that she was a formula baby. It was the right thing though for me and my baby and she has been a very happy and healthy baby. As someone offered above please pm if you want any mor support -
Anyone had experience of small for dates scans at Kings?
mollydoodle replied to Yak's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I measured small and was sent for this scan at 38 weeks to be told they thought baby was already 8lbs 10 in size which worried me as to what size she would be when she arrived as ended up going eleven days late to have a 8lbs 1 baby so even the info they give you at the scan is an estimate and bump size is nothing to go by!! It was a super quick scan though. -
