I prefer routemasters to bendy buses the problem with bendy buses is you wait for ages for a bus to turn up, then two arrive at the same time, joined in the middle !! When is Bo Jo going to make good on his promise route 12 first is what I say !!!

Over the past year there have been some interesting discussions on here, and some people have 'vanished' as a result The one that still sticks out for me is 'Strict Teacher' and her offer of Piano lessons for kids... but since then silence Which ones stick out for you, and which member has been silent as a result Where are the now ? :-S

Peckham actually (which is fairly close to East Dulwich) B) -
It's not cowardly, it is simply a case of questioning "are they carrying a knife or gun?" It's sensible really, and I hope Acedout called 999 to report them

Are you allowed to drive on Rye Lane at all?

Interesting observation and generalism Louisa, or do you speak from your own personal experience of doing all that..:)) prdarling , I think you will find that the time restrictions related to the old system of rising bollards (installed by the Peckham Programme team of Southwark Council, and withdrawn a short while later as they were a complete disaster) and that there are now no time restrictions for entering the lane (although I may well be corrected on this) -
Are you allowed to drive on Rye Lane at all?
LuvPeckham replied to trentk69's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have just come through there on a bus, and the signs are clearly showing Buses only, with big no entry signs I agree that a sign saying all other vehicles turn left here would be useful, but they aren't there and I suspect that the council won't install them without a lot of demand. From a stand point of traffic management, Rye Lane should really not be used as a through way as the system has been designed to make it as hard as possible to go from one end to the other (one way system going north at the north end, no entry at the southern end)... this obviously has the effect of reducing traffic on the lane, but does make it harder to pick someone up from the station or to collect bulky goods from the stores. It is a concensus from the trading community of Peckham that something needs to be done to Rye Lane to make it more friendly and one suggestion that I have heard is to make the southern end (from Hannover) one way going south with north bound buses going around the back via the one way system to Hannover. It would make bus journeys slightly longer and require a bus stop at the end of Bournemouth road, but it would allow for a smooth flow of buses and delivery vehicles one way along the southern end of the lane, whilst providing the ability for loading bays along one side and wider pavements all the way down. Would be interesting to see what other people's ideas / comments are on how to improve traffic flow on Rye Lane. (note Please don't suggest demolition, bulldozers or anything like that ...) -

(6) Now to add Kylie's address to the last invite using only letters cut out of Bunty, Woman's realm and legsex monthly.

I'll have you know I don't share my hobnobs with just anyone (note to self strike KK of Fantasy Christmas Card List for not being nice to LP, lick open and now festering wound and go home to mummy for Tea, Sympathy and a Powerranger sticking plaster to make it all better)

It would have to be Davina living next door for obvious reasons If she was camped outside my house (rather then next door) then it would mean (gulp) that I was in Big Brother (shreaks with horror at the prospect) Failing that ... Eddie Izzard and Cameron Diaz either side of me and Kylie and Danni over the road (imagine the dinner parties)

Help the Aged (bag collection)
LuvPeckham replied to LuvPeckham's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Oh it helped alright, some doddering old geezer on his zimmer frame (complete with go faster stripes down his recycled track suit) popped by today and the bag is now gone... I have to admit I did see him coming down the street for the past week and he has only just managed to get as far as my house .... passed by 100 snails and the post man on the way at this present moment (3 hours after collection) he is fast approaching my neighbours gate (who is aged, needs help and hasn't put anything out) and ETA at that gate is about tea time tonight..... I do fear though that by time he has finished collecting in East Dulwwich, the next set of bags will have been delivered and he will have to start all over again ::o -
SOB SOB :( they have postponed this week's Doctor Who for the entries you have shown There is no justice in this world anymore.... and what has happened to all the Bees?

I heard that the Bun House also did this last night as part of an art installation (they do something every year for the I Love Peckham Festival and they appear to be starting early this year)

Try the Nags Head (Peckham Rye) , The Bun House (Peckham High Street) , The Greyhound (Peckham High Street) or the Hope (Rye Lane) All four are as described, one room boozers, and three of them also have pool tables (although watch out for Mick, the owner of the Bun House as he is a bit hot on the table and likes to 'play' his punters) The White Horse has a more upmarket feel to it, but again does come into the correct category as requested Peckham is home to the proper pub if you ask my opinion (and as they have a functioning Pubwatch in action, the first in the borough along with an Information Sharing Protocol with a bared in one bared in all policy making them a safe place to drink as the landlords there take care to look after their customers) Peckham (surprisingly) is also an excellent place for a pub crawl, and I heard that a hen night did just that a few weeks ago as they felt safer in Peckham then other places in london (as recounted by the Landlord of the White Horse at the last pubwatch meeting) I Love Peckham (Boozers) 'Hic'

Dog Fouling in the East Dulwich area
LuvPeckham replied to jrussel's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
only advice I can provide here is to contact the community wardens who can issue a Fixed Penalty Notice to any dog owner who doesn't clean up after their dog. they also run schemes like 'flag the poo' where they draw atention to any dog mess in the street to shame the owner. Problem is (as always) in catching the owner when it happens and I suspect that if someone was around then they wouldn't just leave it but when no one is there they do... Photos of offending owners and dogs is a useful tool, but if doing that make sure that you don't inflame the situation resulting in a 'right good smacking' from the owner (therefore do it at your own risk is the comment I have to add here) -
WOW ?70 - ?80 a month Personal recommendation is spend that money on a Wii Fit - have fun whilst working out at home and scare your neighbours by doing the hula-hoop exercise with no clothes on, facing your front windows with the curtains open (sorry to the lovely people over the road who have now started a pertition after calls to the police failed to stop me last week :-$ ) Seriously a good fun way to work out, providing you do a little every day and ignore the barbed comments it throws out if you put a pound or two on over night Downside is you sometimes feel a right twit jogging on the spot, ski-jumping in your lounge or trying to break past the 400 hola-hoop record in under 6 minutes... and don't even get me started in Super Step arobics... The following website is priceless 419eater.com and is a site for getting revenge on spammers... the 419 scam is mainly from Nigeria and this is an open forum where people take up the offer, then get the spammers to send over pictures as proof of who they are Some of them are works of art and the funniest are where the spammers don't speak good English so they hold up signs that are a trifle rude about themselves... Keith - have you been doing this already without telling us ? see Numpty I especially love the guy who was asked to send a photo with a fish on his head Fish man Go through all the rooms to pick out your favourites...

(dons Garden hat to reply) Good Compost, and it may well be worth considering a grow bag (or as many as needed) Allow 1 foot between plants to allow good root growth Depending on expected height of plants, place an appropriate stake next to them and loosely tie in as they grow (if tight it will constrict growth) - If Tumblers then grow in a basket or a window box and you don't need a stake use tomato feed once a week (liquid form) and water daily (after 7 when the sun is weaker to stop evaporation) Pinch out top of the plan (first few leaves) every so often to encourage it to bush outwards rather then straigh up (more fruit is often the result) Check for ailments on leaves and fruit and treat as required good sun is essential for good cropping :)) Enjoy with home grown rocket salad !!!

Today's offering was "Discover your new beginning in lovemaking" (*subtitled - "This is the best solution supplement for your dating woes") Curious... (not really) Interested... (Depends) Opened... (Not on your nelly) Bounced... (As high as the sky) Still at least this one seemed to have the ability to spell ;-) I wonder if the subtitle is something to do with the ED singles night currently being organised... (6)
